Benneteau def. Lacko 7-5 3-6 7-6(5)

Tough win for Julien. This was a crowd-driven victory, being in France, I think he would lose anywhere else. His first serve really helped him and he was just that little more willing to go for his shots when it mattered in the end.

What a match that was! ATP level for sure, and a good one there too. No doubt, this was clearly the best performance from Lacko this year. He played an excellent match and still lost, what a shame! Both players deserved to win this one... After Lukas was up 5-3, with level of his serve, he should win it, but Benneteau made some spectacular plays. He is really good, without a big weakness, had a crowd behind him and was also more lucky at the end. Lacko was maybe risking too much at the start of the tiebreak, but it was the only way he could play this match. Lukas just needs to keep this level, and he will run into top 100 very fast. Hopefully he will not be frustrated too much after this match, he needs to stay cool and focus like he did today. Results will come for sure! Congrats to Benneteau.

Remember that Bene took a medical time-out during second by leading a break up. After that he lost his game. I first thought that he would retire after the second set, because he talked long time with the representatives of the tournament during set pause and had an ice bag on his right leg.
I have no idea how he managed to come back agaisnt an excellent playing Lacko. Chapeau for this fighting.

It will be hard to regenerate some energy again; on the other hand: Imo Jaziri isn^t at his best and should be dominated by Bene under normal circumstances...(but injury is no normal cirumstance)

Mahut played very good and his servs were much better today. But it must be said that Clement had excellent first serves. Bad luck for him, that is returns are crap and that he choked when it got tight...(Some Df's for example)
