Mika is playing in Orléans this week @ the 75,000$ Challenger.
And guess what? He won his first round match, vs Raemon Sluiter seeded #2, 6/3 6/3
Next match vs Burgsmuller.
Mika really needs to win some matches. Allez

Mika is doing well in Orléans as he's won 3 matchs in a row, all of them in straight sets against Sluiter, Burgsmuller and Mackin. He faces tomorrow Dick Norman in the semis.
C'mon

Mika lost in the final in Orléans against Oli Rochus 76 76...
Anyway it was a great tournament!
Yesterday Mika beat Norman in straight sets, thus he had not lost a single set before today's final
With this good result, Mika will stop plummeting in the rankings and be back in the top 150. Hopefully he's gonna reach top100 before the end of the season *crossed fingers*

Mika is doing fairly well these days as he qualified for Stockholm. Unfortunately he lost to Nieminen in the first round but if he carried on like this he could get a WC for Paris Bercy and could eventually re enter the top 100...
Allez Mika

A few bits of interviews with Mika in the last issue of Grand Chelem (http://www.grandchelem.net/, you can download the whole magazine here, it's free: http://www.sportagence.com/gc/GC2.pdf)

COMMENT PRENNENT-ILS LEUR PIED ? (It's a series of articles about the pleasure in tennis)
And that part made me smile too:

Not a translation, just roughly what he says:
Mickael has developped his own vision of tennis inspired by Riton (Leconte): "I can't remember how many times I tried out unreal shots in training, drop shots with a backward drive, completely crazy things. I also trained the famouse backhand volley with both feet off the ground à la Leconte." The "sophisticated dandy" is one of the last volleyers on the tour: "Some players win without having fun. As for me, I really enjoy attacking, rushing to the net, smashing the ball, trying dropshots. The matches of Argentines, left-right-left, bore me after a while." In his quest for perfection, he imagines the player who would incarnate the pleasure in tennis: "Federer has it all, but I would pick Gonzalez' forehand, Gaudio's backhand, Tursunov's game from the baseline because he can hit so hard on both sides, Gasquet's class and Fabrice because he drives the guys nuts."

And the 2nd part is about the "slift": when he was younger, Deniau made him practice his serve with lift or with slice and he had problems with the ball toss, he kind of did both at the same time. They called that the "slift". His first serve still is particular because of that, the other players know that on the tour, so the "slift" still is his brandmark in a way.

Merci Truc. I like his quote, I agree with him.

Michaël retired at 5-6* (1st set) in the final of the Heilbronn Chalenger today and he couldn't play the doubles final after as well... I hope that's nothing serious.
