Default JJ in Davis Cup against Russia

How will he do? Tursunov should be the favorite against both him and Michał, considering Jurek is still a bit rusty and that he doesn't cope well with big doping against him (like in Miami). Hope, that both will beat Gabashvili, cause even though he had a decent appearance at AO, he's usually just a CH level. Doubles might be crucial.

JJ plays first rubber against Khachanov, who replaced Gabashvili.

His rival is ranked outside top400 and only 17y.o., but already managed to beat in Moscow and St.Petersburg guys like Ramos, Tipsarevic and Hanescu, so he can be really dangerous at his homeland. Hopefully, JJ shakes off the rust and the BO5 format will be too much for the promising Russian.

My basic concern is how will Jurek react to crowd frantically cheering after his errors, etc. Hope, he won't get affected by it so much as he was in Miami, last year.

Thankfully, Russian crowd was very sleepy and the youngster was easily routined by Jurek in 3 NID sets.

JJ's groundstrokes were really impressive today, serve could have been better, but overall a very nice performance.
