2011 hard court swing
Okay i think this thread should suffice up until the end of the season since the surface is more or less the same on every tournament.
2010 results(defending points):
ATP 1000 Canada - R64 (10)
ATP 1000 Cincinnati - R64 (10)
US Open - R64 (45)
ATP 1000 Shanghai - R64 (10)
ATP 1000 Paris - R32 (90)
Added to these he played a few smaller tournaments which currently don't count on his ranking, but could if he improves those results:
ATP 250 - 2 QF in Vienna and Metz (45 each)
ATP 500 - R16 in Basel and Beijing (45 each)
2011 results: (compared to last year)
Canada: R16 - 90 pts. (+80)
Cincinnati - 10 pts. (0)
US Open -
Shanghai -
Paris -
So he has practically nothing to defend except 2 wins on Paris masters. This is a chance to get back into top 20 if he can convert his rising form into points.

So first up is Rogers cup and his part of the draw is:
[1] Djokovic vs BYE
Davydenko vs Qualifier
Seppi vs Cilic
Nieminen vs [16] Del Potro
[12] Troicki vs Qualifier
Baghdatis vs Isner
Qualifier vs Mannarino
BYE vs [5] Monfils
I would say that one win is a MUST, everything else would be a bonus. We have to see in what kind of form JMDP is.

Marin is playing tommorow, 3rd match on court 9. Play starts at noon local time so probably sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. (9-10 CET).

Bad draw for him,but it's his fault falling out of top 20 
Wouldnt be surprised at all if he loses to Seppi,but I hope he wins a match here and in Cincy. |

And yes i agree, you can't expect easy opponents once you aren't seeded anymore. He will just have to kick some good opponents this summer/autumn.

Decnet win against Seppi. Didn't see any of it unfortunately. But I think it has to be better to defeat Del Potro.
I really hope he will and shows he can play at the same level as him.

He was good in the first set, but made terrible mistakes at crucial points. Djokovic just too solid atm, which is no shame.
Hope he does just as well, or better, in Cincy.

Agreed. I'm happy with the way he played and also with his attitude. Despite what the score in second set says he didn't sink mentally.
Only bad thing was missing too many easy shots where he had Djokovic already on ropes but that can be fixed.
Now let's hope for a bit better draw in the next tournament. All in all, +80 points here so he should climb a few spots.
