RP: Seeded at 2, what were your expectations coming into the tournament?
TS: I felt like I have been playing very well and my expectations were to come in and do my best. My only concern was fatigue and how my body would hold up. I just took it one game at a time.
RP: Is this your first time at the Harbour Island Athletic Club?
TS: Yea, this is my first time here I really like the environment and setting.
RP: Harbour Island Athletic Club is a clay court venue, what is your court preference?
TS: I actually enjoy playing on clay. Before school I loved clay. Then while at school I played on hard courts for so long I just got used to them. I like to slide a lot, on hard or clay, so as long as the clay on the court isn’t a thin layer I am
RP: How would you list your strengths as a player?
TS: My movement. I play really disciplined. I try not over playing and try to get my forehand in good situations.
RP: Being successful at the Futures level, what it’s going to take to move to the next level?
TS: I think it’s just going to take playing a lot in Challenger’s tournaments and being up to the competition.
RP: You turned pro last August, and you just won here at Harbour Island, what’s next for you?
TS: I have a week free, then I’m off to California for two 15,000s and then there’s a series of four challengers here in Florida.
