Groove, again, Gonzales retired in May 1960. He could NOT have had 364 weeks #1.
Fix it.

This was such a great thread and a great list until he ruined it himself with a lot of factless assumptions.
A pity.

I won't be able to say this for too much longer, but according to that list, Moya > Murray.

Re: Professor Groove's Top 159 Players Ever (Fed- 3, Nadal- 20, Nole- 36, Murray- 107
Is it possible that I am personally distraught with my inability to surmount an impossible task? A task of a GOAT list all agree upon, using all possible stats? Maybe it is my own perfectionist nature, where, it was bugging me that my knowledge of the game had some gaps, a pro slam here, who was #1 pre 1973 and for how long and when and who was #1 this week or that?
It is eating me up that I cannot solve this puzzle, please, I would like MTF to propose their own lists with merits and stats, and I will adjust accordingly.

This list is much improved. Federer is pretty Awesome... but Pancho was a machine, who just is not recognized... ever. He invented Serve and Volley! Also Lavar is great. Fed is where he belongs. Being #3 on a list of 150 is amazing! All Fed fans should stop complaining that he is not number 1.
Everyone else can make their own list, is they have different opinions.

Your own previous list was much better and almost all agree upon it.

Re: Professor Groove's Top 159 Players Ever (Fed- 3, Nadal- 20, Nole- 36, Murray- 107
Johnny personally I do appreciate a lot all of your efforts, and especially the fact that you added the names of players who won slams or simili-slams each year
I just think that should not be lost the infos and website links (pictures, etc ...) about unknown players that you had in the previous list.
Maybe it could be put in the "blast from the past" section, I don't know but I think it should be kept somewhere
Anyway I don't think the rankings are the most important : the most important is the compilation of infos about players from the past imho.
I understand that keeping an up-to-date ranking list of where Federer, Djokovic, Nadal or Murray should be ranked is neither an easy nor a pleasant task as there will always be plenty of contestations, and I would understand that you would give up with that "slaving" goal.
