Nah.

Top tier on clay is Nadal, Borg, Kuerten, Wilander, Lendl- all won at least three RGs and Vilas ain't far behind.

I can understand your point, but I still think that players like Connors or Sampras would be great during any era. They would make adjustments and they were mentally champions.

While we can't have a time machine, we have to have a tournament where the guys play with wooden rackets and the kit from the 30's. Who would win? I could see Brands doing some incredible stuff.

In my opinion Federer and possibly Borg were also top tier on every surface. Federer is an amazing claycourt player with 5 roland garros finals, Borg had 4 Usopen finals and alot of titles on indoor carpet. Look at the guys they lost to in finals, Nadal on clay is the greatest claycourter of all time and Mcenroe and Connors were huge forces in the Usopen, to have both in the same time be there to stand in your way was very unlucky for Borg. That is what circumstances does to players, born some years earlier Borg would possibly win 3-4 Usopens and Federer would win 3-4 Roland Garros.

Federer is on the same level as Vilas, their clay careers look almost identical except the fact that Federer doesnt go around the globe playing 250 tournaments on clay. In fact Federer got one more final than Vilas in RG by now.

Djokovic isn't within 5 ranks of Nadal in terms of career achievements. He may be at the end of this career (I personally think this is unlikely, for this his breakthrough came too late), but he is not at this stage. Not even close.

Show some respect for the players who paved the way for the Djokovics of today.

Nole is no more than #31 all time, at this point at least.

If Djokovic keeps #1 every week of 2012, and wins:

1 slam, he'll be #26 all time.
2 slams, he'll be #23-25 with Edberg, Wilander, and Becker
3 slams, arguments can be made from #15-22
4 slams, arguments can be made up to at least #14, and surely higher, depending on how much value you place on a CYGS, possibly up to #7 all time, but after that, it would be tough to put Nole above Sampras or Gonzales, Rosewall, Tilden, Fed, or Laver with only 8 slams. He'd need another year.

I personally think Conners should be higher I mean he wasnt allowed to play the French in 1974 which he in my opinion should have won .That really hurt him .

the problem with such lists is that the Australian Open really came to importance in 1988 before which it wasnt popular .On the other hand the WTF were considered the 4th most important event in those times.
