Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
PLD grinds out another tough win, 6-4 in the third over No.6 seed Stebe. Next is Gulbis, with Janowicz or Britton to go before reaching the main draw. Wouldn't bet on it happening for Duclos this week.

He qualified here last year, did he not?

He got in as a LL and won a round, picking up 23 points.
Things are not looking good for Duclos. He started the year ranked 249, he is now 356 and next week he will likely be outside the top 400.
I wonder what he will do this fall.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
Play qualies in Challengers. He seems steadfast against playing Futures. I think he still thinks firmly he belongs on the World Tour, given how well he played against Ferrer in Holland and that he beat Harrison this time last year.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
My pictures from yesterday's qualies. I randomly selected courts to watch some tennis and somehow ended up at both of his matches (1st and 2nd Q).

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
I wonder how he feels considering he's way down in the ranks.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
I feel like PLD has given it his all this year and has little to show for it, and from now to November he has a lot of points (for him - 42 to be precise) to defend or he will fall still further in the singles rankings. His ATP ranking now is 399 - can he hang on to being inside the top 400 at year's end?

He may have given his all but he wasn't very strategic. Too proud to play futures or most challengers, rather he chose to play qualies at ATP level tournaments and did very poorly.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
You're right. Now's he's stuck with qualies for Challengers. I see him finishing the year about 600. He may just (have to) pack in tour tennis sooner rather than later.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
PLD in a downward slide now - lost today in qualifying for a Challenger for the second week in a row. He probably needs a mental break from tennis, but, as I said above, he'll end up outside the top 600 if he doesn't do something this fall.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
PLD back at it - coming up really solid, in one match anyway. Beat Skugor 1 and 4 on clay in Brazil today. Opponent former World No. 147 who's out of form now, it seems. Probably we can deduce nothing from this result, but hopefully PLD's about to make a wee run, qualify and get a few points, on red clay to boot. Let's hope anyway

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
Whats with PLD these days? Seems like his ranking has dropped considerably and he hasn't played much only until now.

Re: Pierre Ludovic Duclos
He's injured.
Edit: He's out for the season.
