I have to question why PLD constantly tries to qualify for events he usually has no chance of qualifying. He's like the only Canadian player who does this all the time. Similar ranked guys like Erik, Peter don't do this. Those guys play in events at their level and play within their level but PLD, on the other hand, doesn't do that.

I think he would've been better off playing at the Granby Challenger than trying to qaulify for the Atlanta Open.

Lost in qualifying for the LA World Tour 250 event, in the second round, to a guy, Louk Sorensen, who's been away from tour play since March. A disappointing result.

I disagree that he doesn't stand a chance of qualifying for World Tour (WT) events. He normally wins in the first round of qualification and then usually plays a close second round match. And the two times he has got into a WT main draw, Winston-Salem and s-Hertogenbosch, he first beat Ryan Harrison and then lost to Ferrer just four and four. I like that it seems he has the confidence where he feels he belongs with the big boys. For me it's the other way around - I'd like to see Polansky, now that he's back on track, Chvojka, and Bester too with one or two PRs even, trying to qualify for a few more WT events than they currently do.

Can't believe he lost to Louk Sorensen, the guy is like semi-retired.

Anyways, PLD will be playing at the Vancouver Challenger next week. Hopefully he does well there.

As bad as he lost last week, he' just taken out Guccione 3 and 2 in final round qualies for Van. Good chance he'll draw a Canadian in the first round though, either Bester or Dancevic.

Thanks for the link to the streaming - way better quality than LSHunter's. Duclos started out on fire against an in form Ram, but I fear once Ram finds his Vancouver feet, he might steamroll. (But Duclos has himself been on a roll in qualifying.)
