AO should be an indoor slam.

This. It's okay to have a roof, but they kept it on when it wasn't even raining.

Sorry Djokonauts, I am a fan of Federer now. I've learned over the years to appreciate his contribution to the game. No one will ever surpass this man's influence.
Federer ~ The consummate professional. Never retired once in a match. Does not go over the time limit on every point.

I'd say it's good. I think it's nice especially since Wimbledon always has rain.

Can someone tell me, how much time it takes to open the roof and the time to close it as well?

Why would it ever be negative to not get rain interruptions and less wind and other annoyances. Players with a solid offensive tennis game will benefit. Pushers will suffer. Tennis wins

It takes 10 minutes for it to close, and then another half hour or so to get air flow management system to get going before play can resume I think - unless they've improved that since it was built.

To open back up? Not sure, sorry

We all know you hate Nadal, but nice to see you have many ways to say it.

BY the way, this is an OUTDOOR grass tournament... Indoor Season is after USO.

Ok thanks a lot for the info

10 minutes is not that much, so I don't understand why they are playing under the roof even when it's not raining

So MTF complains when there are rain delays and cries for Wimbledon to get a roof, then when they get a roof, MTF complains because it doesn't "feel" like Wimbledon

Not really - if anything, it seems to benefit clay slugger types. A number of players have said quite how heavy and slow it becomes under the roof.

Depends on the forecast. If they anticipate more rain during the day, then it's not worth spending 40 minutes to close the roof. Then stop the match, open it for 10 minutes, and then if more rain comes - stop the match again for 40 minutes to close it again.

The roof is great. I'd rather have uninterrupted tennis on Centre Court. It's a shame that RG and USO don't have roofs.

You're so obsessed with Rafa! I think it's time for you to admit you'd love to have him sit on your face while you jerked him off into a popsicle mold. After putting it into the freezer for a few hours, you'd take it out and deepthroat Nadal's cumsicle.

it would be a bit ironic if the GS with by far the best weather becomes an indoor event...
