Default Poll: Who will win Traralgon 1?

Who will win Traralgon 1?

Ebden, Kokkinakis, Bolt, Saville and Millman look to be the main Oz hopes, but maybe there are others with a chance?

I really hope Kokkinakis can make deep runs in Traralgon 1 and 2. It would also be nice to see Millman gain some points here.

Duckworth choosing to forego these events?

Go Soeda will be in the mix, if he can handle the Traralgon windy weather.
Ebden and Millman should make strong runs.
Kokkinakis will want to impress but will he handle the pressure of expectation.

James is playing the Charlottsville Challenger, along with Groth.
Groth is number 1 seed, and has drawn a qualifier, yet to be determined who he plays.
James is seeded 6 and plays 18 year old American Ernesto Escobedo, currently ranked 500. This will be an interesting clash as Duckie lost to this dude at US Open qualifying 26, 67(3). Ernesto has only played once since then (Tiburon - Oct 4) losing to Wolmarans in straight sets

Got to wonder if this tournie is actually going to happen! Back on rain delay at the moment after most of yesterday cancelled and blowing a hailing gail when its not raining by the look of it!

Yeah looked pretty windy out there although I was only able to catch the first set of the Jasika match. Looks like tomorrow and Thursday will be all clear so they should be able to catch up pretty quickly.

Oh dear. Someone joked on another thread that Ebden could lose his round 1 match - and he has! Very very windy, but that affects both players...

Results so far Smith df Ebden 6-4, 6-4
Saville df Meister 6-3, 6-3
Thompson df Whittington 6-1, 6-2
Propoogia df O'Connell 6-4, 6-2

Soeda gone. I think that Jordan Thompson will have a good shot at Jenkins. He is in great form Jordan.

Jasika also got a win, plays Bolt next.

I've done a state of play on the effect on their live rankings:http://lifeunitennis.blogspot.com.au...nd-upsets.html

Hmm, not many takers on the poll, should I have made voting anonymous?

In any case, latest update on points and rankings out of today's results can be found here: http://lifeunitennis.blogspot.com.au...day-2-and.html

Wins for Jasika, Saville and Jones. Kokkinakis only five points behind Duckie, can they each win their next rounds?

Millman goes down to Mitchell in a match with some wild swings: 2-6, 6-1, 7-6(6).

Kokkinakis, Mitchell, Jasika, Smith and Saville into the QFs.

JP Smith is showing good form, firstly beating Ebden then brushing off Jones in the wind, who qualified easily then beat Reid.
JP is in the bottom half of the draw away from inform Jenkins, Kokkinakis, Moriya and Mitchell and could end up being the surprise finalist here. Or am I putting the mocker on him...

"Kokkinakis only five points behind Duckie, can they each win their next rounds"

And Duckie did win his next round in Charlottsville, getting up over Ed Corrie, so also into the QF round...
