Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
If you take out the aces, he had 16 winners to 13 unforced errors, not too shabby

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Nice win Didn't get to watch much of it, but in what I saw he looked good. Should be a servefest with Muller up next, but I like his chances.

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Muller is 7-6 7-6 over Haas, seems he'll face Milos in 2nd round

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
do aces count as winners or not?
anyway it will be muller up next and judging from the stats he played incredibly well
37 aces and, if the stats are to be believed 70 winners

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Yes aces do count as winners. Round 2 i wonder how many aces will be hit combined.

33 winners in 4 sets isn't too special, especially if Muller played any SV

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
A small detail about Milos's practice plans for Muller in a column from Damien Cox:
Quote:
Instead of being part of the backlog, Raonic now has the advantage of being able to prepare himself knowing he won’t be playing again until Wednesday and knowing the identity of his next opponent. For that, he’s planning to hit on Tuesday with Spain’s Feliciano Lopez, a tall, left-handed big server similar to Muller, the world’s top junior a decade ago, who hammered 37 aces himself on Monday.
Raonic’s father, Dusan, arrived in time to see his win over Gicquel, as did his brother, Momir, who lives in Montenegro. Neither, however, will be staying at the house he’s rented a block away from the All England Club. The idea is to focus with his “team,” led by coach Galo Blanco, and reap the benefits garnered from his painstaking efforts on European clay courts in recent months that forced him to learn to stay in points longer.

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Great match is coming...
I like both styles, Muller is a great player with a good grass level, and Milos needs this victory so much.
I really think Milos could win this. Go Raonic!

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Probably won't be the most exciting match in the world, but it will be awesome just because Raonic is in it!

Re: Milos' first Wimbledon cheering thread
Um, windy conditions tomorrow . . .
so i'd expect the ace count to be not as high as expected.
(against some other player, it would put milos at a disadvantage. but since gilles relies heavily on his serve too, it should be interesting)
