Re: Davis Cup
5-5
nestor holds his serve, finally
once again i must say the young ecuadorians impress. The confidence of seeing their team mates win both singles rubbers must really be helping them
maybe an oppertunity for canada here though on ecuador's serve( sorry for not using names but i dont know them)
15-30
30-30
40-30 with a nice shot
deuce
this is the first time they've actually pressured the ecuadorian team's serve
adv. canada
deuce with an ace
adv. ecuador
deuce
adv. ecuador

6-5 ecuador

Re: Davis Cup
Nestor a bit sloppy at times, but you can really count on him for the important points!

Re: Davis Cup
so they are through, 7-6, 6-4, 7-5. Tougher than expected, but the result didn't ever really seem in doubt.

Re: Davis Cup
Good to get the point, agree that while it was no blowout, it seemed like Dan and Vasek always had it under control. If he's fit enough to go, it's gotta be Peter against Campozano tomorrow, right?

Re: Davis Cup
Would have been better if Ecuador had converted maybe because then we would be seeing Peter tomorrow, now I am nervous that they will go Vasek and Phil

Re: Davis Cup
Just awful, they might as well put Nestor into singles action with the way things are going or call Niemeyer out of retirement. Unbelievable. I have no confidence in either Bester or Pospisil or Polansky. Maybe they should brought in my main man PLD to rock the house!

PLD could have been on the Davis Cup team a couple of years ago against Peru (and, as it turned out, could have had the honour of pulling out the key 5th rubber), but he declined.
