Well, if Pospisil was saying that he couldn't serve properly because of his shoulder, and Raonic wasn't particularly worrying about his knee, it would make pretty good sense.

I'm a bit disheartened about how often our players are struck down by injury or sickness.

Fair enough, if that were the case. I thought I read that Nestor wanted to play with Pospisil but after a four hour meeting, ML decided to go with Raonic.

And saying that 250's are meaningless is absurd. Just because it isn't at home and they aren't best of 5 doesn't make them meaningless.
In the grand scheme of thing, 250's are essentially meaningless. He would get a lot more experience from playing a 5-setter against a guy like Tsonga over playing some guys that he would likely destroy in a small tournament without much pressure on him.

Of course, it looks like he's not going to end up playing any of them. His injury problems have shown up again.

I didn't like the decision myself. But if you're looking for somebody to blame, I'd probably blame Milos himself. He's the one that requested to play yesterday (and kept playing despite a knee injury).

If Nestor had actually wanted Pospisil, he could have had him. He likely had a ton of input into the decision (if not the final say).

you would think that Nestor would have a lot of say in who was gonna be his partner but it wouldn't suprise me that Laurendeau would just make the decision himself. If the decisiaon took 4 hours then it wasn't because Vasek was slightly injured.

Milos shouldn't have played the doubles but hindsight is 20 20. But it's not the first questionable decision Laurendeau has ever made

Great to see Frank making a match of it. It could have been painfully one-sided but he's providing great entertainment for everyone, even if the outcome is not in doubt.

Oh well, let's just hope we get a good draw (hopefully seeded!) for September's WG playoffs and retain our World Group position. And it was awesome seeing DC at home for once.

We got quite unlucky drawing France and some of the decisions this weekend didn't really help either so let's hope for the best.

Laurendeau made totally wrong decisions all weekend. I know things are always easier in hindsight, but I would have...

1. Played Frank friday against Tsonga.
2. Played a rested Vasek Saturday with Nestor
3. Without playing Milos in doubles he may have been ready for today, but that's not as much of a decision as it is a result of an earlier decision

he makes these bad decisions every year

i have long thought that martin lareneau was an idiot and he has proven it this year with his decisions and proven how petty he can be last year with the whole frank situation.

it might be time to get a new captain, if canada's davis cup team wants to move on further its necessary

i've been reading along with everyone and finally made a profile after following for a few years. I must agree that its time for a new captain and direction for team Canada.
We've worked so hard to get to where we are and our current captain (who's name I hate to think let alone write) needs an attitude, mentality and game change.

Shall we start a petition?
