As for the match, Analysis:

he holds to love, 0-1
he breaks to 30, 0-2
He holds to 15, 0-3
He breaks to 15, 0-4
He holds to 15, 0-5

video starts

First game on return, when i am out of camera, the first point, I am beaten by a pass off the net, 2nd point, his slice had too much slice.

He breaks after one deuce, 0-6

2nd set

He holds to love, 0-1

30-0, DF, 30-15, DF again, 30-30, good fh approach, missed BH volley, 30-40, shank lob on the baseline, just as I planned, fist pump, deuce, good serve, he misses return long, ad in, let, first serve, good effort, but not enough, deuce, “oh come on! Clearly you saw that shit!” you hear from the other court beside us. Those two were challenging lines from the warm up. I attack with the forehand, inspired by the drama, ad in, my forehand approach, hits the net, I body language it over, but that takes time from getting into position and he passes me, deuce, end of video, batteries ran dry. I end up getting broken after 3 deuce, DF to give it away.

He breaks after 3 deuce, 0-2
He holds after one deuce, 0-3, I start to play better 2nd set.
He breaks to 15, 0-4
He holds to 15, 0-5
He breaks to 30, 0-6
0-6, 0-5, last bit of video. 0-0, some good BH CC by me to draw the error, 15-0,

Still too much fat, though getting stronger, must be able to move quicker, backhand must be more forceful, toss and serve still a disaster. Forehand was ok, backhand not TOO terrible, but overall, that serve is in ruins. Biggest thing holding me back.

Stats: These stats are not official, just what I recall looking back, remembering certain points, and the video also helped.

Points won on serve: Me- 14 (33.3%), Him- 25 (80.6%)
Points won on return: Me- 6 (19.4%), Him- 28 (66.7%)
Total points won: Me- 20 (27.4%), Him- 53 (72.6%)

I need a serve, badly.

All of this would make for a good HBO show I think. Kind of like "Flight of the Conchords, but a tennis version of it.

I pretty much think that a Serve is a Natural Thing. Either you have it or you dont. But having said that why dont you practise for the serves which makes good angles. Agassi did a pretty good job of having a Mediocre Natural serve and turned it into a very effective one.

The list is quite long actually. Agassi,Nadal,Djokovic and so on. Go for a Kicker out Wide. Go for Angles. You would require a Good Serving Coach here.

Tell me this mate, how long can you actually stay in the rally with your BH? With a player who can string together 10+ good shots in a rally.
And can you find someone to tape from a proper behind the court angle?

That video is hard to watch. That guy is making you look foolish.

Also I can tell your serve is poor without even seeing where it lands.

Lenders: One thing people need to understand about this so-called weak era is that it was 'weak' for Federer on HC and grass and for Nadal on clay (Federer on clay too Nadal apart) because they were so much better than anyone else, for any outsider the era couldn't possibly be any harder, during 5+ years you had to either beat the best grass/HC player ever or the best clay player ever in every single Slam just to get 1 Slam title.

this is correct, it was the firsst thing i wanted to start with.

You need asap to get ssomeone teach you how to perform a kick serve. It's essential.

Your serve is so repetitively the same all the time, that after two returns and your opponent is tuned, and starts pounding returns, like if you're neever having service games, always on the back foot.

Second thing - footwork in connection to your BH. It's not that you're too slow per se, or too heavy, or wwhatever. It's just that you don't move correctly, you're not taught how to do it.
You're playing like 5 semi volleys from the baseline on your BH in like 15 rallies, which is 10% the above point about serve, but also 90% failing to be in the right position to play the shot.
Overall your footwork needs working on, coz you're making those giant leaps left and right, often without the micro adjustment steps, but anyone who'd keep a topspined ball on your BH 2-3 times would get you no sweat.
Tke a step back, readjust, hit through. Think about being more explosive with your legss, right after the ball leaves the guy's racquet.

I thought your return is kinda good, without really seeing well how strong was the other lad's serve, but except that you put it back regularly, you also never try to make anything positive with it, just hit it back mid court and then just play the moving target.

I think that overall you might take a step back and play a bit further behind the baseline, you have better chances with a bit more time for your movement, compared to your technique taking the ball on the rise or having the hands to play short swing shots.

So, yeah, 3 main points among (too) many - 1. learn to serve (in general too) a kick serve. 2. Work on your footwork. 3. Play a bit further back, finish your BH movement, practice your slice (you've rarely played training sessions against a better player, so you have a useless for the moment slice, you need to find a guy like that), use more angles, try to find a style (maybe try some drop shots, or drag your opponent to the net, learn to play S&V, at least for a surprise factor here and there), it's many things, but a lot has to be done indeed.

Again (and again, and again) - you won't make it without a coach. You need to hit thousands of balls and someone who knows what he's doing to adjust everything step by step. It just can't happen otherwise, you will just go deeper and deeper into the conclusion - I need a serve, then will be i need a BH and at the end you'll need more fitness, which is actually the least of your problems at the moment, you barely have time in those rallies to get your pulse over the 100 mark.

Keep digging.

Lost 0-6, 0-6 to Wojcik in consolation. Bit of a harsh score. Twice I had 15-40 to break but missed. I also had game point in two other games. 6-1, 6-3 is a fairer score.

either way though. My shoulder hurts, I am spent, burnt out, exhausted, total physical, mental, and emotional burn out.

I need some time off.

I'm not retiring, not now at least. I can't go out like this. I have enough dominos money saved up for 6 more months. But if I don't make some wins in the next few months, I will have to retire, try to get into graduate school, maybe go back to dominos part time. We gonna see
