Nice article.

It's a pity that you fell just short in the end, having fought back so well! What surface were you playing on? I have read before that India has quite a lot of grass courts?

Best of 15 games is a rather interesting concept. Personally I prefer a straight match (best of 3 sets, or a match tiebreak for a 3rd set), but I can see how playing that format could improve your game...you cannot afford to lose concentration for long, otherwise the match can quickly slip away. You described that part very well when you were trailing 2-6 and needed to scrap for every point in some of the tight games that followed.

I hope you get that elusive point, and do check out Xristo's thread in non-tennis, where he is trying to qualify for Futures events.

Thanks.. the surface was hard court.. most events now in India are also played on hard courts.. very few clubs have grass courts though there are still some national grass court events during the year..

Personally, I prefer best of three sets since i feel i can last long and gives me time to adjust tactics.. but i guess in order to finish all the matches, they need to shorten them during the qualies!!

Agreed, grass is awesome but so hard to come by. And so expensive to maintain!
