For caution's sake, it was a lame joke, tennis2018.
Hahahahahah, you made me laugh and cry with that one. LOL
I don't know for how long they been together, but suddenly he's winning to his nemesis and that's reason enough for me to love her

Vasek draws Delbonis in Madrid. I don't like his chances.

I wonder why he decided to try the qualies for the clay Masters, given it is not his surface, and he is not exactly over-performing. He could have done the Challenger in Czech Republic, where he could have felt at home and had a better chance of getting through a round or two.

yeah, he's not qualifying. Even if he somehow got past del bonis he wouldnt get past the opponent in the final round anyway , which is probably going to be starace

well he broke back but still lost

7-5, 7-6(8-6)

did better than i thought but still the result i think we all knew would happen. The kind of troubling thing with the stats is that he only broke 1/6 times and del bonis broke 2/2

i still dont think he's ready for top 100 quite yet, even if he is ranked 99

Better also than I thought.

BP stats are not encouraging, but then a couple of weeks ago he saved something like 13 BPs in a row, so maybe he used up his allotment for the quarter!

he drew gilles muller in round 1 of rome qualies

gilles is in the final of the rome challenger so he's boviously playing well. Fatigue really shouldnt be a factor for him either

neither one likes clay but i think gilles might be the slight favorite here

on the odd chance he gets past muller then he's more than likely got albert montanes as his final round and he's not beating montanes on clay

How far away is the Rome CH site to the Rome 1000 site? If Muller's CH match takes 3 hours he will only have 45 minutes to travel

From the map on my iPad, 30 minutes drive but Rome is famous for crazy traffic, no?

I am surprised you are even allowed to enter a qualy draw when you are still playing a Challenger from the previous week!

Here's hoping Janowicz engages Muller in lots of long rallies in the final, so that exhaustion sets in. Muller already played nearly 3 hours in the SF today, which is good.

Tsonga is famous for something like this, I think eh qualified for Queen's while winning the Suboriton Challenger 3 hours away.

why would that not be allowed?

if anything its only going to cause problems for the player who schedules himself that way.

I guess vasek should probably get past gilles now that i think about it porvided he doesnt tank or roll over jerzy. But there is no way he's getting past montanes/ungur on clay

Scheduling. Muller's presence is requiring the tournament organizers to schedule his match so that it doesn't conflict with his Final appearance. I can see tournament organizers not liking that.

But it is allowed, so I guess tournament organizers can't mind that much.

Anyway, it would be great if Vasek could get through even just 1 round. It would give him some points and another match on clay. I am worried that he is not getting much match play in prep for RG.
