Default Félix Auger-Aliassime

I thought I would create Félix his own Thread considering how well he has done on both the Junior tour and ATP at only 14 yr old, we can still post in the 1999-2001 Juniors Thread about him as well if you like. but I just thought it was time for him to get his own thread, and hopefully he continue to carry on his great form and success through this years and many years to come for Canada tennis

Fellow Tsonga fan knows where the exciting tennis is.

Can't wait to see Félix hit the ATP tour... just 2 more years.

So I've never followed anyone from this age before, I know he's doing very well at this age, however from what I've seen he's only really played on clay in the past year. Is this a problem? Or is this normal, will he eventually be playing on other surfaces.

Wow I didn't really notice that until you just pointed that out, He played on clay this whole yr so far beside that one challenger event he played. I guess it an good thing he great on clay because not many player are good clay-court player, but I also hoping he good on other surface as well

As with most of the Canadian contingency he's playing in the Granby challenger. He's seeded 6th in the qualifying draw and needs to win only 2 matches to make the MD. Let's see what he can do.

He won his first match against Jack Lin 63 61.

He second match is suspended until tomorrow due to rain it is at 43 in the first set and I believe he is up a break as well.

He won 76(3) 62. Live scores showed he came out not as sharp as before the rain delay (served for the 1st set twice, had 2 BPs to break lead 65 and serve for it a third time) but he loosened up to take the TB and second set rather convincingly.

Hope we'll see some more streams this week. What an exciting prospect Felix is. I don't think Canada has ever had a male tennis prodigy.

Tennis Canada does seem to favour taking the kids on clay tours to make up for the lack of red clay courts in Canada. But his clay heavy schedule is also an accident of some injuries he had during the HC season. And There's really only two or three grass court tournaments for juniors and his ranking was still building up to get into those before Wimbledon.

I just hope he can avoid serious injuries in this big learning period the next few years.

With all these rain delays hope his match won't be too late for me to watch. First time I'll try to watch a full match from him.

It's just how Junior tournament scheduling worked out. Canada went on a Central American tour when they were bringing their first year 16's to the G4's and G5's and they all happened to be clay. Then once he excelled there, he needed to go onto the European tour, and all of the big tournaments G3's, G2's and G1's were on clay. There isn't too many hard court junior events outside of Canada and the states.

His match was, and still is scheduled for 6:30 Eastern. Granted it is as an NB, but now it seems to be just two matches before hand, Schnur/Nishioka is scheduled to restart at 3:30 (with the score 1/4 in the first set) and then one other match after that so hopefully his won't be too late for you.
