Ouch... Yeah, expected loss but I really thought he has chance, specially when he had 4 - 1 and two BPs.

THE NEXT ONE?

If Milos Raonic is to be resident in the highest rungs in tennis over the next few years, a player who could very well be there with him is Grigor Dimitrov. Highly touted after winning the 2008 Wimbledon and the US Open junior titles, the Bulgarian has struggled to make his mark in the pros but recently has improved and currently ranks No. 70.

On Monday night, he played No. 37-ranked Juan Monaco and I stayed around to see exactly where he is at these days. Less than six months younger than Raonic, Dimitrov, 19, has often been compared to Roger Federer because of his one-handed backhand and explosive gamestyle.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 169 pounds, he looks to have filled out and probably weighs more than that. Against Monaco, he led 4-1 and 15-40 on the Argentine’s serve in the opening set but failed to convert those break points. Soon errors began to creep into his game while Monaco played tougher as he appeared to get over some string tension problems he had earlier in the set. The match completely turned around as Dimitrov unravelled and won only one more game in a 6-4, 6-1 loss.

I later talked to his coach, former No. 7-ranked Peter McNamara from Australia, and he said that his player just “has too many shots and options.” At recent tournaments, Dimitrov has followed up tremendous performances with showings that are anything but. McNamara claims that it is all in the head and, holding his thumb and index finger a little bit apart, said that there is just a little bit further to go mentally.

OMG! Monaco lost the next round vs. Simone Vagnozzi (who doesn't know this great champion from Italy, the home of the best tennis players in the world) and won only five games. So seems like Monaco was really hot! ... This just disappoints me even more... :-((((
