Re: *Richard Bloomfield*
Such a shame.
He seems to be on the verge of a break through. Hope he takes a lot of confidence from these close matches.
Until recently all his success had been at Futures level but got a SF at a challenger in the last month.
Hope this is the start of good things for Richard.

Re: *Richard Bloomfield*
Richard won a Futures event in Belgium yesterday. Last Monday his ranking had moved up to 288, and this should show a further rise tomorrow.

Re: *Richard Bloomfield*
Ah. Actually, his ranking has gone down to 302. He must have had a lot of points coming off from this time last year, unless the ATP don't add this tournament until next week. Anybody know?

Re: *Richard Bloomfield*
It's because points from Futures always go on a week late and (indirectly) because of a change in the Belgian Futures schedule this year.
Last year, the first Belgian Future was at Waterloo in week 43, Richard reached the Final it's those 12 points that have come off his ranking this week.
In both years, the St Katelijne-Waver Future was in week 44 - last year Richard reached the semis (6 points) whereas this year of course he won it (18 points), so he has a net 12 points to go on the rankings at the end of this week, which will take him back into the top 300.
This year, the equivalent of the Waterloo Future is in week 45 (i.e. this coming week) and I'm not sure whether Richard's in there or not - he was hoping to go to the Nashville Challenger but missed the main draw cut and was not able to get away from Belgium in time for qualifying, for obvious reasons! If he doesn't play this week, he'll have the same points from Belgian Futures as he got last year - 18 for the SKW win c.f. 12 for the Waterloo Final and 6 for the SKW SFs last year.
Hope that makes sense!

Re: *Richard Bloomfield*
WHAT!!!!!! I didn't know this was here!
I saw Bloomers in person last year when he played that match against Clement in D.C. He was awesome, the crowd was 100% behind him.
I him.
Unfortunately he lost to Janko today, but he won a set at least.
