Will there ever be another Pete Sampras? A guy who has been in GOAT discussions despite not even having reached a RG final?

Hate to break it to you, SetSampras, but when people talk about Roger's domination, it's generally not 2011 they have in mind.

Is this doofus for real?

Of course its not 2011 they have in mind. Fed can't dominate legit opponents. ( like 2011) Only useless pidgeons ( like 04-07).... domination over non talented mugs like Roddick, Baghaditis, Blake, Ferrer,, Davydenko with non slam mugs or 1 time slam wonders etc. or 200 year old Brokeback Old Man Agassi. No domination over the real big dogs like Nadal and Djokovic

yea... pretty sure federer of 2004-2007 would have the winning edge (By a good margin) over djokovic. Nadal is a whole other problem.

Dude, Federer's years of domination were 2004-7. Last time I checked, Nadal finished 2nd in 3 of those years & had a losing record against Federer off clay, & Djokovic finished 3rd in 2007, the same as he did in the subsequent 3 years. (And before you start, any other great player would have had a losing record on clay against Nadal, including Laver & obviously including Sampras - the only conceivable exceptions being Borg & Rosewall.) Ferrer, at 29 with a roadrunner game, is currently No. 5 in the world in what you consider the era of the big dogs (& has recently thrashed big dog Djokovic); Davydenko, before recent injuries, used to own "big dog" Nadal; Agassi is a famous exception among great players for having his best years late in his career; Roddick used to beat up on Sampras & has won as many US Opens as either Djoker or Nadal; & you don't mention Safin, who thrashed Sampras in a slam final & was hardly lacking in talent, or Hewitt, who also thrashed Sampras in a slam final, or Nalbandian, whose talent you yourself have praised, or, I dunno, Moya, who was one of the mighty threats Sampras faced in a slam final. Sampras's years of (lesser) domination were 1993-7, & in that period his biggest competition was Agassi (awol except for late 1994 and 1995), old Becker (who won 1 slam in the period), Courier (who was fucked by 1995), choking Ivanisevic, & erm baby Moya? and a few clay-court specialists he couldn't beat on clay. The end of his domination coincided with the rise of "big dogs" such as Rafter & Rios.

It is fair when arguing between Fed and Sampras to bring up the point that the top players Sampras played may have been better than Fed's top opponents, but I think the overall field is much deeper in Federer's time than Sampras's.

Are you really stooping this low?

I see that you're making Safin out to be a tough competitor on hardcourts. Doesn't Safin belong to the "mug era" that Fed dominated though?

Hope you go far in the ACC. Your posts are almost on the same LOL level as Start da Game's. All they're missing is a bunch of mangled ellipses.

Samanosuke: Wanted to good rep you for your reply to Nole tard but I couldn't give you any more rep points.

Will there ever be another one like you SetSampras, who thinks losing in earlier stages is better than losing later? Keep picking at Fed for constantly being in clay finals to receive a beting, but not on Nadal or Sampras for not even reaching the latter stages of their respective worst surface (in Nadals case at least until Fed had lost a step, and also before Novak hit his stride ). Beyond parody indeed.

Please take a closer look at my post previous to the one you replied to, it contains some facts.
