Only saw the last set, but damn this Djokovic has cojones.
He is seriously going to threaten Rafa on clay this years because this HC was as slow as they can get.

Similar story to Indian Wells. Nadal looks comfortable, then his game falls away, while Djokovic hung in there and ground it out. Wasn't a specific thing like the 25% first serve, just his entire game: groundstrokes got shorter and shorter, the 2nd serve return was a minor miracle when he got one in court, and so many errors and miscues.
To cap it all, after somehow surviving the 3rd set, Nadal played a tiebreak PHM would be proud of. Wild errors, returning like Karlovic, and a doublefault just to help things along.

Nole outplayed, has been mentally and physically tougher than the guy known for mental and physical toughness in tennis. Really does speak wonders. If it needed any questioning, Nole has clearly arrived now.

Well played both. This is how great champions lose, not giving up ala Fed when they get outplayed.
The Nadole era has definitely started. This is not a major though, one more or less MS doesn't make a big differnbce for these top guys. French Open and Wimbledon are what really matter. If Nadal wins those he will remain no.1. Bye bye to no. 2 Fed!

Well deserved from Faker  Crap match though, court was like glue ATP will see the scoreline and have positive reinforcement for making blue clay. If Nadull had won with his pathetic play Fakervic should have committed ritual suicide so good for him, making the IW/Miami double a joke is the lesser of two evils in this case. |
