Ouff! What happened? I've got a friend visiting and I've just got back in. Did he fight? Scoreline looks like a blowout

Ah Gilles . Ferrer just lost to Roddick , this should've been winnable.

lol. You do notice US Open wasn't played on clay, eh?
David is no push over on clay, he won 22 matches on clay this year. So for David, is also very winnable and so he did. . Gilles just not good enough today.

Of course but still...Gilles can play on clay too, and this was a beatdown .

Sure he can, but he's not as consistent as David on clay.

It's funny, cos before this year, we've been whining about how bad Gilles was on clay (or maybe just me ). But the past 2 years, he really was pretty awful. 2009 he's very out of sort on the red stuff and last year he played only 3 clay matches and lost 2.

This year, he has a decent clay season, but not great. Then Hamburg, he was very brilliant (IMO). But he's no where a consistent clay player like David. David won Acapulco, was Finalist in MC, Barcelona losing to Rafa, and then he lost to Nole in Madrid, Gael in RG, Soderling and Dolgo in Bastad & Nice respectively. Gilles has losses that made me (Raonic and a slumping Montanes). Anyway, I'm saying that this is winnable but it's also not a surprise that he lost to David. Ppl underestimate David so much that sometimes it makes me mad (well, he's my #3 fave afterall).
