Glide on Terre Battue to victory, clay season 2011
Well, me again, opening yet another thread for the clay season, but now, Gilles should be immune to my jinx .
I see this clay season as the most important portion of the season for Gilles, mainly because there are 3 majors tournaments (Madrid, Roma and RG) and no point for him to defend. Also because he's pretty consistent every year in the second half of the year, but it's hard to tell what he will manage on clay, so I think his performance this clay season will play a big part in what ranking he will end this season at. So allez Gilles, you like the red stuff, no?
First up, Casablanca next week. Gilles seeded #3, has a bye and most likely start play on thurs.
His section of the draw:
Starace/Brands
Machado/Ramirez Hidalgo
Bolelli/Gil
Bye/Simon
If he gets out of this section, the potential SF opponent is #2 seed Baggy.

You're very creative with your thread titles!!!
When I read the draw for Casa I was going to write he could do some damage here but it would prob be to himself ( ) so I'll just say what an interesting field and reasonable draw
Allez Gilles!!!

4 major tournamentens There is Monte Carlo too.
I also think that the clay season is the most important by far this year

I left out Monte Carlo just because it's pretty hard for him to gain pt there, he has to at least get to QF to gain (since his lowest 500 level pt is 90).

Really? Thanks for the info.
The ranking system seems even more complicated now to me. How the hell the 500p tourmanents affect the 1000p ones?

Monte Carlo only counts as a 500 even though you get 1000 pts for winning it! It's the only one like that though

Bolelli is a dead ghost now, it's safe to assume he'll play Gil.
Gilles vs. Gil

Bolelli's quite cute though, I bet Sammy would have his hands full during that match!

Re: Glide on Terra Battu to victory, clay season 2011
Oh we're in sync then!
I'm going to get an early night, me and a friend are going for a long walk tomorrow along one of Scotland's most beautiful glens, Glen Affric, it's one of the few places with remnant of the old Caledonian pine forest. Really looking forward to it!

(not my pic but I'm hoping for the same kind of weather!)

What I remember about my stay in Scotland is that weather changed every 10 minutes
