Re: Houston 2011
this match is so horible - strong wind - I saw a ball having a very wired traectory, a lot of mistakes from both, wrong serves, wrong calls, interruptions...its just

Re: Houston 2011
Oh, shit He was broken. Grisha start the game excellent with 40-0, but then had to save 3 BPs, but on the 4th Gabashvili broke. Fuck!

Re: Houston 2011
this wind is so strong, must have been very wired to play in such conditions without knowing how strong have to hit the ball
I think Grisho is unlacky today and will loose the match in 2 sets, but I can't really blame him

Re: Houston 2011
Disappointing. The wind troubles not only Grigor, but Gabashvili as well. Our boy has the chance to win the match. Missed 2 SPs in the 1st set and was 3*-2 40*-0 in the 2nd.

Re: Houston 2011
That's the end. 6-7 3-6. He could have won. I am disappointed, really disappointed.
Anyway, next tournament is Barcelona. Good luck, Grisha!

Re: Houston 2011
I am not dissapointed so much, really!
It was just a horrible match, with a lot of mistakes, they both didn't show a good game.
You know when he is on what is capable to do.
anyway good lack next time, Grisho

Re: Houston 2011
The only thing that was really dissapointing was the way he started the match - first 3 games in the 1st set. He played like he is done and the match wasn't even started yet. Looks like he lost it in his head before the beggining.
That is something really borthering.
Look at the match with Schuettler. When he knows he can beat the opponent Grigor is confident and strated furious, played excellent, served amazing! But the opp is also true.
Pete has to work on that! Grigor has no confidance at all!

Re: Houston 2011
Well, I think he knows/knew he could beat Gabashvili, but still his confidence is too low, I agree. Maybe he needs a person in his team, whose task should be to "work" for Grigor's confidence. And I am not talking about Pete. The Australian should work about his game, imo

Re: Houston 2011
From his interview after the match with Shuettler:
'Young Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov thumps Rainer Schuettler, 6-0, 6-2 at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships in Houston. A former top-ranked junior, Dmitrov’s progress has been slower than some expected, although he did suffer injuries last year. He has been given the nickname, “Baby Federer.”
“I haven’t done anything yet,” he told the Houston Chronicle. “But it’s not easy (to be patient), trust me. When you’re No. 70, you are in that gray zone where it’s like, ‘Come on, man. (Win) a few more rounds, (win) a tournament.’ There’s definitely a lot to work on, but I’m happy I passed my first match here and I’m looking forward to the next one.”—Matthew Cronin'
So we know now it is not easy to be patient especially when it is not comming to him naturally...
I am curious now if he will step on his new level and start winning R1 matches, though I expect now a loosing R2 matches steak to come. Would be still better that R1 loses, but let's see!
