exploit on clay.......
hey guys
what do you think are the chances of team usa winning DC in sevilla??.......... if andy can serve consistently over 115 mph and be patient enough with his game and also forget a very partisan crowd they might lift their 32nd DC trophy.

Liverpool FC need to return to the good old days when the players were born and bred locally. Dalglish, Keegan, McDermott, Kennedy, Lawrenson, Hansen, Grobelaar, Toshack, Molby ........ or were they just the Chelsea of the 70's buying the best talent available in the market?

Re: exploit on clay.......
I see one chance for team USA: the Bryan brothers.
Otherwise, it's (almost ) hopeless. I predict 4-1 Spain.

Re: exploit on clay.......
Based on the venue they chose and the other intangibles, I don't even know if the Bryans can win. 22,000 people vehemently cheering against them. If people say the crowds here are bad, let's think back to the treatment Wayne Ferreira was given when he was beating JCF last year at Madrid - and that's only a TMS event, nothing compared to the DC Final. Plus they picked the lower elevated venue, which will hurt Andy and Mardy's serves (including the Bryans too since they have big serves as well, lest we forget) a lot. There's just no way the US will win a match. It'll be 3-0 and they won't play the dead rubbers. Call it pessimistic, call it realistic, but it's the way I see it

I really don't think it matters whether he serves over 115 mph or not. It's gonna be more about his ground game than anything else. I really don't see them pulling this one out. I don't know how good/bad Mardy is on clay. Never seen him play on it. Put seeiung as Mardy likes short points, I don't see him being a threat. But I hope they can just be patient, and wait for the right shot to go for. I feal like the Americaans need to find versatlilty in their games to win this years Davis Cup.

Re: exploit on clay.......
Mardy's clay record is horrific I think he's 4-8 lifetime and a lot of those wins were in Houston which like a nothing tournament, just like a lot of Andy's clay wins are in Houston, too.

Re: exploit on clay.......
Andy loves to care for the crowd by playing a dead rubber while he was tired from
serving too fast. Yet he couldn't care less about his health & progress in Thailand or in any other tourney. Look who let him do anything stupid....Genius Pmc & Gilbert.
He's already gained weight quickly again. That's SO great for his future.
If he can't stay under 190 lbs., he won't beat top clay players or do anything in the slams.

Re: exploit on clay.......
Andy can't do that - Lleyton was in the position of not qualifying for the masters cup or anything and not really having a chance to finish near the top of the rankings. If Andy does that this year, he would surely finish the year behind Lleyton, and Andy does not want that to happen.

Re: exploit on clay.......
Guess what? Andy can't win 2 matches in Houston. He can't hold serve because he cannot move his feet.

Re: exploit on clay.......
You all sound so dire. I don't think it's *that* hopeless. I don't think we're going to win but I don't think it'll be a blow-out either. Mardy and Andy pulled off clay wins in Slovak, remember? Granted, Hrbaty and Beck aren't exactly Nadal, Moya, and Ferrero, but still. I prefer to look at the silver lining. Help me grasp at these straws, Naldo.

Re: exploit on clay.......
I don't know what to say. It depends on some factors: how prepared they will be for this competition, who want to win so bad and of course who compose the teams, who is injured at that time etc. Anyway, I hope USA is gonna win and I think they are motivated to do so.

I don't think it's really his serve speed that's gonna be the issue or his serves in general. It's his ground game not being up to the same standard as Moya, Ferrero, etc. And there's his sucky movement on clay....
3-2 Spain and it's already a for the U.S. LOL
