Re: Question - what should the world do about the situation in Libya?
So EU decided to not decide anything and let people in Benghazi get hammered so it's just gonna turn into another srebrenica, rwanda or darfur
Gaddafi is a million times worse than Saddam, yet most of the westerners keep licking his oiled balls

I wonder if they plan to stop Gadhafi by just destroying his army or if they intend to kill him straight away. I know for sure Gadhafi won't give up until he's dead.

What makes you so sure he'll give up even then?
You think Gadhafi is the Black Knight or something?

Maybe a little bit of badly needed credibility, both in the Arab world and back home?
It's ingenuous to believe the West is 'getting involved' now, when we have been heavily involved in most of what goes on in North Africa and the ME for decades, if not centuries. The political evolution of the Arab world is simply inexplicable if you ignore the cumulative influence of colonialism, the double crossing of the Sykes-Picot agreement during WW1 (Arabs were promised independence but got Anglo-French mandates instead, with the Balfour promise of a Jewish homeland thrown into the mix without even asking), the desert war during WW2, the CIA led coup against Mossadegh in Iran in the early 50s (which by the way left the mosques as the only place where the Sha's police couldn´t intervene unheeded, giving the imams a leading voice in any opposition movement, we all know how that story ended), the systematic support for both Israel and tyrants in the Arab world, and a long etcetera (which include arming bastards like Saddam and bin Laden whenever we thought it served our purposes, or promoting Hamas back in the early 90s as a means to break Arafat's hold on the Palestinians, or even just plain terrorism, like the bomb the CIA placed in Beirut in the 80s, missing their target but killing dozens of women and children when they exited a mosque).
We're not 'getting involved' here, we're simply doing it the right way just for this once. Let's hope we may start to convince mainstream Arabs that we really do stand for democracy and decency, in deeds and not only in words.

Lmfao at hypocritical westerners.Noone would give a damn had it not been for the oil, like they don't give a damn about half of African countries that have been in state of civil wars for decades. There should be no interventions anywhere,if the Libyans want to throw Ghadafi out they should do it themselves

Re: Question - what should the world do about the situation in Libya?
The right thing is to eliminate the Gaddafi Family , who is suppressing and killing the Libyan people by payed mercenaries, by all means necessary. Only their money was saving them so far.
The right thing is in going on right now. cya Gaddafi...

How the heck do you over throw out someone who has control over the army? Planes? Bombs? That's not something you can stop with rocks, guns and demonstrations.
The problem in the African countries is a bit different, I think. Massive tribes fighting with each other, usually there is no one evil tyrant you can just get rid off.

The truth is, the common people of Libya wont have any profit from this, they will get so called "democracy" and and thats it, everything else including life standard will remain the same if not even worse, only western countries will occupy Libyan oil reserves and make profit from it. I know what Im talking about since in Serbia we had Milosevic, and after we received "democracy" via NATO uranium bombs which now causing deaths of plenty people , and getting "democratic government" life standard is still terrible, and vast majority of the people is poor...I feel sorry for Libyan people....

Re: Question - what should the world do about the situation in Libya?
Gaddafi is now worth hundreds of billions . He has looted the coffins eh coffers dry and he is accusing the West of trying to take Libya's wealth. It would be hilarious were it not for the dying souls who live in that country.
