Today i just did a walk and run back and forth, but mostly on the grass because its better for your legs. It was a great cardio workout, i did this mostly at the park near my house. It was very relaxing and soothing. Im very proud that im working out again. I think i did this for 1 hr or 1hr 30min. Tomorrow i have a rest day so thats all for today.

Agreed, I also prefer not to go running on streets and sidewalks.

Luckily in my club there is both a normal 400 meters running track, and a 540 meters forest ground track which is way easier on the knees.

I've started to do the snatch and the clean at the gym. Like the moves, they are great for getting the heart rate up. Have been able to snatch 60kg, hope to go farther once my technique improves

My fave fitness guru finally has a DVD workout series out. Im so excited for her, she truly deserves it so much. I have been following her since she was with bodyrock back in 2011. Shes was the founder of "Bodyrock" for 3-4 years til she split with her husband Freddy who was the cameraman for bodyrock in October 2011. So then 2012 she created her own workout channel and did about already 49 videos. Short, quick and efficient.

Not sure if protein shakes are the best possible but they're certainly better than deep-fried stuff!

Tried the clean & jerk yesterday, was able to lift 70kg (not much I know but I'm still happy). Liking these weightlifting moves, they get the heart rate up nicely. Just have to work on the technique.

Well, it depends on the shake you're using. You'll find the vast majority of highly commercialised and marketed products endorsed by high profile bodybuilders (who don't even use the related product) are the poorest quality, despite costing a fortune. Avidly avoid anything by BSN, ON, Maximuscle and the like. I'd advise anyone to take the time to do a little research and simply read the product labels. Avoid Concentrates and stay with Isolates. Some people are fooled by the "100% Whey Protein" tag, it doesn't mean that it's 100% protein, it just means that the protein content is 100% Whey. I could go on for days, but I'll spare you all.

Good Protein shakes are excellent and pretty much required for any person who has a job or studies. It's often impossible and unnecessary for one to eat 6 whole food meals per day. I'm lucky enough to get mostly 5 on a good day and I use two shakes per day, one in the morning and one post training. Whey is excellent because it's absorbed quickly into the muscle, whereas whole foods take hours, whereas Whey protein shakes can take as little as 30 minutes.

Could not say better. Personally I take whey after workout and casein before sleep. Till now best combo for me.

I see absolutely no point in using Casein. Far too much to write, just listen to some of the things Rick Martis has to say on it.
Layne Norton also expresses the same views.
