Yup, true

I was thinking... on one hand, it's easier to become a better player and thus to amass such huge fortunes with economic help from an affluent family or from sponsors able to recognize talented youngsters. You can concentrate fully on your tennis and not worry about food I'm guessing neither Nadal or Federer had to endure the kind of life Amir Weintrau describes in his blog entries.
But it's also true that without talent, commitment and hard work, they wouldn't be where they are today.
Probably, even with the same economic help, Weintrau wouldn't have reached the same crazy level of those two.
So I'll let them enjoy the millions that they've sweated for (as long as they pay their taxes and give back to charity )

This article needs to be posted in the hotel lounges near the tournaments he plays. These chicks need to know he can well afford to pay for his Hugh Grant specials, and a bottle of Cristal to wash it down with.

If Roger was getting some on the side(unlikely seeing how I'm sure Mirka would kill him if he was)that would explain why we've never heard anything. Always pay well if you want discretion folks.

Meh, what difference does it make really? Once you get past a net worth of a certain number of millions, theres really no tangible difference between someone worth 250 mil and someone worth 500 for example.

That's modern day sport for you, mate.

In terms of money earned directly from the sport (ie in prize money), tennis doesn't come close to sports such as football (both proper and the American eggthrow) basketball, baseball etc.

Other than those at the very top of tennis, the rest of the guys pretty much rely on getting results on the court to make decent money. I guarantee that the 100th ranked tennis player earns at least 10x (maybe even closer to 20x) less per year than the 100th best footballer/basketball player/baseball player.

True. But he's a cute nerd so it's forgivable if he thinks this is still the year 2000.

exactly.
top100th footballer has insane amount of money, while a tennis player like Dabul for example just has enough to live and travel.

I'm ok with that, he's earned it.
