Link doesn't work.

NBA fans better value Nadal a hell of a lot more than Roger. An NBA player wouldn't be taken seriously if he was as mentally fragile as Roger, and Nadal would be the fucking boss with his clutch gene.

It's interesting reading that thread.

As big as Kobe and LeBron are in the UK they'll both struggle to perhaps even be top 20 when it comes to popularity. But then here in the UK hardly anyone follows tennis.

Federer has never had any clutch moments ever.

Exactly. You can pretty much name 20 off the top of your head that are way more popular here. I think quite a lot of the names I've mentioned (tried not to include too many footballers) have a good chance of being more popular worldwide too:

Federer
Nadal
Murray
Djokovic
Hamilton
Button
Alonso
Raikkonen
Vettel
Wilkinson
Rooney
Van Persie
Ronaldo
Messi
Hoy
Wiggins
Ennis
Sharapova
S.Williams
V.Williams

Lol what kind of silly thread is this ?
They don't even mention tennis and barely point out Nadal or Federer.

Talk about misleading title.

Not nearly as much as Nadal, and way more chokes.

It's all about who you're comparing yourself to. And since closing is so important in basketball...

Federer would be a bit like Lebron... great game, sometimes lacking the mental aspect. Nadal would be a bit like Kobe. An ice-cold killer.

Lol at all those people on that forum who lists Kevin Durant in their top list and not Federer/Nadal.
Djokovic is going to be there but he has the disadvantage that people can't remember his name.

To me, at the moment this is the top 10 global superstars in sports.

1. Tiger Woods
2. Roger Federer
3. Kobe Bryant
4. David Beckham
5. Cristiano Ronaldo
6. Rafael Nadal
7. Lionel Messi
8. Manny Pacquiao
9. LeBron James
10. Novak Djokovic

I would definitely put Lebron at #1, especially now that Miami is riding on a 27-match winning streak.

It's still basketball. Not popular in a lot of countries. A lot don't even know Lebron over here, because hardly any one follows basketball.

Kevin Durant has no business being anywhere near top 50, great as he may be

Hell no. Yes, LeBron's stock is rising every day but Kobe is much more known than LeBron is.
Maybe with people aged 14-20 LeBron is more known but with the rest of the people I highly doubt it.

North American people tend to think that their sports (or sports which are famous in USA) have the biggest known athletes in the world. I have seen material of Bryant being in Asia where he was treated like a God, but so was Messi. Fed and Nadal probably are one of the biggest superstars in Latin America.

I doubt that Durant is even in the top 3 Basketball superstars.

Where do you live?
I do think most of the people in the world know who Federer, Bryant, Messi/Ronaldo, Beckham and Nadal are.
