Re: If Djokovic didn't have the Todd Martin debacle
Hard to say. I think a big key to his success from 2011 onwards was his improved ROS and his fitness, rather than serving issues.

Re: If Djokovic didn't have the Todd Martin debacle
Not sure which it would have been regardless.. The rest of his game was still fine you fail to remember, and it isn't like Novak had Isner's serve to begin with. Either way, Djokovic was not going to pick up RG/Wimbledon/USO in 2010. He had no confidence against Rafa in finals up to that point. 2010 AO could have been a maybe, but his serve didn't fuck up his meeting with Tsonga in the QFs, and either way, I think he would have been thrashed by Federer who was absolutely solid off the ground the whole tournament. 2009 USO maybe he could have picked the title here since had he beaten Roger, his defensive skills are normally too good for Del Potro, but again, his loss to Federer wasn't really about the serve. If I remember right, he did make some double faults that cost him some big points, but Federer was just too solid at the end of those sets. And obviously any time before that he wasn't working with Martin, so Wimbledon/RG can be surely attributed to just being mentally off, which is strange considering he came into 2009 being 2008 YEC champion.. But for whatever reason, he decided to fix something that wasn't broken and change rackets which had to kill some kind of mojo for him.

Are you an idiot? Look at Federer's results and show me the huge affect it had?
Compare Federer's "mono" to Soderling's.

That mono shit was a total crap. As wing said, look at Soda, that's what happens if you have mono. You don't play for ages. You do not reach slam finals and semis even if you're Federer, Laver, Sampras or whatever.

2007 without mono won 3 slams
2008 with mono won only 1

Fed will be 90 years old playing chess with another old man in a nursing home and if he loses fedtards will say it's because of the mono.
(I know he has enough money to stay at home and not in a nursing home)

Australian Open: Did you by any chance happen to catch the previous year's U.S. Open final? Djokovic was obviously tennis's next big thing. Unless you think Djokovic was never going to beat Fed in a slam or something
Wimbledon: Nadal was right on Fed's heels at Wimbledon, too....unless, again, you don't think Nadal was ever going to beat Fed there, either. The previous year was a five setter, as was 2008. Things didn't go his way this time.
You can't blame all that on mono when there were other, more obvious, circumstances which lead to him only winning 1 slam.

No, cut that shit out, that is bullshit reasoning. I got mono my freshman year of college (along with strep the first few weeks), and I was still playing on the USTA junior circuit since I was still 18 at that time. Shit sucked heavily for the first 2 weeks, and for several months I wasn't feeling perfect, but I was still able to pick up several USTA tournaments. Just like ANY sort of issue with the body, it entirely depends on how bad you get it. I know some people who got mono and it was like a mere cold, while some others were bedridden for a hell of a long time.
So just by saying compare to Robin is a really stupid way to gage whether Federer actually got it. I'm not saying Federer truly had it or not, but your reasoning is utter poor for saying he didn't.

You do realise the MASSIVE gulf in class between the standard you were playing at and the professional ATP tour right?

This. fedfans will use this excuse whenever they can. Whatever he had only lasted a couple of months, it wasn't career defining.
