Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
Well he'll make some more final. All it takes is Rafa to be out with an injury or Federer retired/Olderer for real. As it looks now no big top5 worthy risers are coming for a while so Murray will be next in line if a draw plays out for him.. Might aswell happen already this year, but if he wins a set remains to be seen.

Seeing how posters on this forum enjoy making fun of losers, he certainly deserves to win several sets, maybe a couple of titles.

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
Its all mental with Murray in slam finals. He has a tendancy of playing passive at times, but he has shown over the last two seasons he can hang with anyone and beat anyone on hardcourts. Not indicative of his failing to even win a set in 3 slam finals. Thats mental weakness plain and simple

Making fun of losers is for losers.
Come on, it's not end of the world for Muzza.
He will win not just one, but plenty of sets in GS finals, maybe even winning one. He's got some 7 years of tennis left for god sake.
For all we know, he can win 3 slams until 2015, we have seen stranger things in this crazy tennis world. Especially because Fed will be retired and Djoker isn't exactly a tennis god and will get beaten many times before he meets Muzza. Wimbledon, anyone?
If he doesn't win a single set, you can call me and Muzza a :retard:.

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
oh I wouldnt throw dirt on Murray yet.. He has ample time to get a slam or two.. Hes a pretty consistent player and Fed is on the clear decline at this point, Nadal's health is up in the air, and we don't know how consistent Djoker will be for the rest of the season. Murray will get his chances over the next 3 seasons or so

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
Please. Murray either doesn't know how to show up for a GS final, or he's tanking. This has been a pitiful display from someone considered on of the best players on tour. Murray can't do it. He can't win a major and he most likely isn't going to win a major until he gets his head fixed. The 0-9 in sets played is just more proof.
I voted no, and it seems ridiculous to say. But it's not hard to believe when you watch him play those finals, especially this latest one against Nole.

He will find a way, he always find a way, whatever the score, whatever the odds. He will match UE for UE, DF for DF until the other starts to play tennis, then add an extra amount of UE necessary to drop his serve twice and then we are in 5th set. Whatever the other is trying to do, he is in control by this point. First handling his first serve game, then choke big time on few BP. His opponent has no other choice but to surrender and take the match on a last dreaded double-fault.

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
I think the only condition he will win a grand slam is if he were to play an injured Nadal/Djokovic at some semifinal, with Federer upset at the QF or something by someone else, then were to play someone like Soderling who would mentally choke it away like he does all the time against Nadal. Another case scenario would be if he played someone like Ferrer, Simon, or another player that requires heavily on accuracy, and little on power and defeated a player of that nature in 4 sets.

Simon would never lose if he reached a GS final, unless he faces Nadal of course.

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
2008 - "Will Murray win a slam this year?"
2009 - "When will Murray win a slam?"
2010 - "Will Murray ever win a slam?"
2011 - "Will Murray ever win a set?"
What will be the question for 2012 as I sense a downward trend in fan confidence and expectations.

Mugray is nothing more than a mug pusher, mug pushers don't win slams.

Re: Will Murray Ever Win A Set In A Grand Slam Final?
More talented players have probably ended their careers slamless, but I'd really be surprised if Murray doesn't win at least one. It just has to click for him sometime, though people have been saying that since 2008.
