Okay, makes sense on Kolya's part, but I would guess we get to see Misha then eventually. I mean, usually they both play.

Sounds silly, but it really doesn't have a big outcome to this tie, it would be much different against all other World group nations. Soderling is a big favorite against anyone he plays, and whomever Russia puts in to play the singles rubbers are big favorites against Pim Pim/whoever. Probably comes down to the doubles despite this.

Again in a Swede`s tie the decider match will be the doubles one.

Kunitsyn/Gabashvili/Andreev (mug x3) wouldn't be big favs vs Pim Pim.

It seems Safin will be in the house for this one. Let's see what he can do for morale in the Russian camp.

I wonder how fit Pim Pim is? Theoretically, he just needs to concentrate on holding his serve and wait for Gaba to throw up another of his df in each tiebreak. Obviously it won't be quite that simple, but it will be as much a test for him as it will be for Gaba, who is one of the best at self-destructing.

I can't quite believe that Russia team, after the strength it used to have several years ago.

I guess Tarpischev decided not to use Tursunov against Söderling to save him for the doubles.

He might play the fifth rubber maybe.

Yeah, Soderling should win both singles regardless, unless he has physical problems.

Tursunov will be needed on Saturday (not expecting any change there), and he is probably the best option to take on Pim Pim in the 5th rubber on Sunday.

I'd love to see Pim Pim come back on the pro tour, he still seems fit.

Amazing victory for Pim Pim considering his present circunstances. What a shameful result for Gavashvili against a semi retired player. Congrats for Robin
Not an easy match tomorrow but I reckon that Sweden shouldn`t have troubles to close this tie 3-0 or 3-1

Fantastic victory for the Swedes 3-0 . Russia should see how to stop the flow of players to other countries as that is definitely diminishing their DC level.

Looking forward for the ITF desicion to forbide players born in one nation to represent another flags
