The common feature in all Milos' losses this year is that his opponent is old: Hewitt, Federer and Ferrer (30 years), Melzer (29 years) and Montanes (31). I guess the old guys have learned a few tricks over the years that help them out. (Although Montanes probably won mostly due to Milos just playing poorly.)
confidence wont be an issue for him at all with the win over murray and close encounter with fed
Unlike those two players, though, Nadal's best surface is clay (and Milos has played and lost to him easily in the past). It would be an entirely different animal to compete with (and possibly beat) Nadal at a tournament he's dominated. I can't imagine a better way to gain confidence and experience than playing these matches right now, so I'm glad it's happening before RG, Wimbledon, and the Olympics.
e said after his loss to florian that he thought he played well but florian played better. He said he could have done things better but florian did well to neutralize his game and that florian's game itself really frustrated him
i guess none of this is surprising since florian really seems to be a nightmare for the big servers
Surprising loss after his results in the last two tournaments, but without TV coverage, hard to say how well he really played. I guess we'll just have to take his word that he did and that Mayer's game proved difficult for him.
