Didn't Roger triple bagel someone in Davis cup?

Remarkable you should choose yesterday for this post. Were you anticipating something? As we now know, Fed served another bagel - his 77th.

it was not a prediction, if I remember well somebody said something about "Fed didn't spray bagels left and right in his prime" and I just felt like looking at this stat

Federer needs to bagel Murray and Tsonga and he will have bagelled the whole tennis elite.

Golden bagel performances from Federer:

-Djokovic on hardcourt at 31
-Nadal on grass, clay, hardcourt.
-Bagelling Hewitt on 5 occasions in one year on all surfaces and 3 different slams 2004 (including 2 bagels in Usopen final).
-Bagelling on opponents best surface: Berdych on grass, Haas in Australian Open, Nalbandian indoors, Henman on grass, Ferrer on clay, Kuerten on clay.
-Double bagel of slam-winner Gaudio in Master cup SF.
-Bagels in slam finals in 3 out of 4 slams, master cup final (twice) and in Cincinatti, Hamburg, Madrid, Indian Wells finals.

Federer has bagelled all top players of the last 10 years or so except: Ferrero, Ljubicic, Safin, Tsonga and Murray

List of impressive opponents bagelled (in somekind of order):

Nadal, Agassi, Djokovic, Kuerten, Hewitt, Roddick, Del Potro, Gaudio (8 slam winners), Nalbandian, Davydenko, Berdych, Ferrer, Soderling, Haas, Henman, Coria, Gonzalez, Blake, Baghdatis

Surprisingly not bagelled: Robredo, Nieminen, Youzhny. His 3 IMO easiest turkeys who together got no more than 4 sets against him in almost 40 matches.

Interesting and very impressive stuff, but bagel stats probably suffer from players not trying to get them when they could when they just serve out the set after securing 1 or 2 breaks. Federer probably could have gotten many more if he would have tried his very best every set he played against lower ranked opponents and turkeys etc. Same is true for Sampras for example.

Default Re: Bagel Hall of Fame & Bagel Hall of Shame (active players)

It is rare to see someone bagelling the same opponent many times. The only one on this list to bagel the same opponent more than three times is Federer, who has served Hewitt five bagels and Santoro four. He has also bagelled Blake, Nadal and Del Potro three times each.

Most bageled by the other top players:
Nadal: Verdasco, three times
Ferrer: Gil, three times
Hewitt: Blake, three times
Davydenko: seven players twice each
Djokovic: Lorenzi, three times
Murray: Bram, three times (in one match)
Nalbandian: Robredo and Gasquet, three times

Recently reretired Muster, for all his bagels, never served anyone more than twice.
