Re: TT changes 2011
TT Changes 2011
1) Double commitment
Points gained by a player who commits to tournaments in the same week will be disconsidered. If the infraction is noticed before the tournaments start, only the first commitment is valid and no punishment is applied.
2) Round 1 lucky losers (Main draw and qualifying)
When both players/teams in a match fail to send picks AND there are no alternates or lucky losers to replace them, the loser with best score in this round will take their spot in the following round as a lucky loser. This rule is valid only in first rounds (main draw or qualifying).
3) Grand Slam and challengers played in the same week
No changes for now. Possible ideas and changes during the 2011 season.
4) Incentives for managers
No.
5) Protected ranking
If a player is inactive for 18 months or more, he/she is ineligibe for a protected ranking.
6) World Tour Finals alternates
Players and teams who fail to send picks for the first round of the tournament will be permanently replaced by alternates. No replacements will happen after the first round. The alternates are not allowed to play challengers in the week the World Tour Finals are played.
7) World Tour Finals tie-break rules
Countback will be used before game difference.
8) Special exempts
Players who are eligible for a special exempt must apply for it before the final deadline for commitments.
9) Seedings & rankings
Seedings, special exempts, tie-breakers and placements of byes, alternates and lucky losers will be based on the entry list rankings.
10) Late entries & seedings
Top 30 singles players are not able to be seeded in the challengers they're allowed to play as late entries.

Re: TT changes 2011
Is this the final decision? I will get going on my manager's guide, if so.

Wait so the highest scoring loser gets a "bye" into the 2nd round?

Yes, in these rare circumstances.
