Re: Tora! Tora! Tora! A Date which will live in infamy Rafachat vol.65
The title might very well apply to the "bipartisan" tax deal that came out in US today: We have the war cry of the bankers at the prospect of a wealth transfer from US tax payers and the verdict of history for the entire arrangement.

Same reason I am not really a fan of Anand and Kramnik in chess even though both are great guys. They make the game look too easy at times and I simply cannot relate.

Since there are sharks in the Indian ocean, why would they be absent from the red sea.

Typical to invoke a conspiracy theory for the shark infestation. I hope the political situation develops well, it is very hard to read it for an outsider.

No, modern war locations depress me. I have only visited the location of the battle of Marathon and the monument in honor of the fallen Spartans at Thermopylai. I love museums though, there are awesome aviation museums in Hannover and Chicago.

So, I ask why this particular robot was so expensive.
Answer: it's from Japan and that country isn't exactly a low wages country.
I don't buy the low wages explanation because that's only part of the reason.
So, I looked on ebay and I found that robot in a shop in the USA. Including shipping costs and calculating from $ to €, it would cost me € 75 to get it shipped from the US.
€ 160 vs € 75.
Low wages in Japan? High profit margin in Brussels, more like it.
|
Very interesting, thanks. Perhaps there is a tax or tariff involved. The profit margin seems too excessive not to be undercut by competition. France and Holland are close.

Absolutely, while you can take actions against ships throwing crap at the sea (fines, penalties) there is nothing you can do about Mossad. Pretty convenient if you don't really want to take actions against the ship owners.
The problem with conspiracy theories is that they suspend the critical functions of our brains. Acceptance requires faith: "The alliens live among us" is not a proposition that is testable in the same sense as "The winter in Topeca, Kansas is more mild compared to the winter in Athens, Greece". Then it is intellectual laziness to assume that "you are in the inside, you know". How convenient.
The mere fact that there are so many conspiracy theories around is an indication that there are true conspiracies around. After all, if you run a true conspiracy it is great to create some noise around that.
