Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Ironman goes to 2nd round in Sydney
I don't think there'll be stream for the match.
Just to note down that I was mistaken. The match should start at 3.30-4 AM CET. This means 5.30-6 BG time. Hope, the match is about 90 minutes, because at 8 I start school and I should get out of home at 7.30.

If there isn't a stream I'll just see the result in the morning, following a SB is painful at times

Mayer was too good for Delpo today. Our player seemed to be really tired after marathon with Lopez. Anyway, not that bad performance by Delpo. See him at Australian Open.

Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Time for Australian Open
He'll win a couple of matches in the AO. But I'm not expecting him to go far, which is only understandable. Not that long ago since he came back from an injury.
Anyway, the more match practice he gets, the better it is. At least he won one match here, which is good for his coifidence. I hope he can build on that in the Australian Open and pull out a few wins.

Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Time for Australian Open
Hey, guys, where do you expect to see Del Potro in the rankings in the end of the 2011 season. He'll start winning points after Australian Open. I'll give very bold prediction with top 20.
Even in his 1st match after the injury, he showed us that he's back and the more matches he plays, the better form he'll be in. I expect wonderful things from Montreal to Paris-Bercy.

I am pretty bad at this sort of prediction but I think between 20-25 ranking.

I'm more optimist: he will be ranked top 7,
2011 will be a remake of 2008 season where he was ranked top 80 at start and finished ranked top 8

I think this is realistic. It takes time to come back after such a long injury break. It takes time to find the game, be confident, be in good shape, be mentally strong. He basically has to start over again. I would expect to see some better results as the season goes on. But I doubt he will be ranked higher than Top 20. I'd be happy to see him prove me wrong though

I was thinking the same, but sounds too much for Delpo's first year after the injury. Anyway, I strongly hope, you to be right.

Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Time for Australian Open
Del Potri vs. Dudi Sela in the Australian Open Round 1. I think, it's not a bad draw, but in the 2nd round, Delpo may play with Baghdatis.
Discuss! Vamos!

Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Time for Australian Open
Baghdatis seems to be slightly injured :
Quote:
Defending champion and tournament No. 2 seed Marcos Baghdatis has withdrawn from the International Sydney event in Australia with a groin injury. Sustaining the groin injury during a practice session late last week, Baghdatis remains entered in next weeks’ Australian Open.
“It’s been four days I have pain,” admitted Baghdatis. I don’t want to risk too much by going in the match and making it worse, so I took the decision today with my team not to participate here.”
|
so Del Potro has a real chance to go in third round if Baghdatis is not at 100%,
I think Del Potro with a little luck can go in fourth round :
R1: Sela
R2: Baghdatis
R3: Melzer
R4: Murray
QF: Soderling/Tsonga/Gulbis
SF: Nadal/Nalbandian/Youzhny/Ferrer/Cilic/Isner
F: Federer/Djoko/Davydenko/Berdych/Roddick

Re: Del Potro Is Back - January 2011; Time for Australian Open
I think R3 is the best he can reach. It'll too difficult for Delpo to beat Melzer, but let's concentrate on Sela. I hope, our boy wins the match.
