Well it looks like I can't comprehend anything in here apart from the players names.

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
OK. First of all, Jazz, thanks for your post about the legitimate request to have the language used here to be back to English, because that was really becoming annoying. I mean, I can understand the joys some posters might have to discuss in Spanish because that is their own language or the one they master the most. But, I wonder if they DO care about the ones who CAN'T speak Spanish. I wanna believe it's not a voluntary will from them to exclude other posters because they don't speak Spanish...Even if the posts that follow your request seem to attest the opposite.
That would be sad that Mariano's forum gets deserted by the ones who had been around for a while now, just because they suddenly feel excluded.

Alexito, please keep posting the links here. I do understand Spanish, but I can also understand people who feel they are excluded of this thread by not understanding what you guys are saying. Maybe you could post an English translation under your messages?
But please keep posting the links, they are lots of Mariano fans here around who are are looking forward each week/or day to your links and screencaps and also who appreciate your work a lot. It's the only way Mariano fans, who live outside South America, can enjoy tenispro

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
This is just a generic response, so if people like it and if they don't, then that's good too.
Anyone with a functioning brain knows that alexito contributes a lot to the Latin forums with his pics and uploading the footage from the Zab show and this is appreciated by all fans of the Latin American players, the fans who can speak and write Spanish and by the ones who don't.
Not everyone understands what is being said and it is an international forum, obviously don't stop using Spanish totally, no one expects that, but there should be a basic outline of what's being said in English and not word for word translation along with the Spanish text.
Is what Jazz posted recently really unfair in any way?

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
George, I think it is a comfort factor for those who are non native English speakers to write in their respective languages. Although I am able to converse quite freely in Spanish, there are times when I am reticent to put those words into text for fear of "messing up" so to speak. I dont think anyone here meant disrespect or to be secretive in any way (Ive read the posts, they are benign really.)
We appreciate all of your contributions, Alexito.
As a note to George, I remember your asking me to help provide translation of the tenis pro episodes. As a non-native speaker, I can give a general idea of the conversations, but much of the humor would be entirely lost in translation. (Which is why I am not a translator or interpreter, I find it so hard to maintain/convey the original sentiment and emotion that I get frustrated!!!)
What Jazz said was not insulting, but just very direct.

Yes, IMO one of the funniest episodes I've ever seen performing Mariano Zabaleta and David Naldandian (where was Chela?).
Scary rally rides on David's car, a football (soccer) match and loads of jokes.

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
I do not speak spanish..... but I feel very sorry for all the people that only speak spanish that now feel that they cannot post here. Lets think about this logically.... this is a forum for a Spanish-Speaking player... yet people have now made Spanish-speaking people feel very unwelcome here. I do not find the fact that people speak spanish a problem at all... there are enough free translation sites on the internet to get an idea of the conversation.... for example... www.freetranslation.com I actually feel that it is technically slightly racist to ban a language on a message board, the internet is one of the magical tools that allow people of all nationalities to get together and speak freely. To say that there should only be one language spoken is wrong in my book (my own humble opinion) - the "I DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND FEEL LEFT OUT" excuse is NOT good enough - its very easy to open up freetranslations and copy and paste to get an idea of whats being said, but instead people have to shut other people out. Its not fair. If you dont understand, say so but dont say - I dont understand so you should not speak it... as that is borderline dictatorship.... wrong.
Alexito provided a brilliant service and now has been shut out because he/she (I think he) does not speak English. The losers in this situation are Us, not Alexito. If alexito would like to continue to post the videos on my Mariano Message Board I know they would be very welcome!

I have to agree here. Maybe we can make a compromise that "normal" Spanish without the "internet abbrevations" like "k" for "que" is used. I'm no Spanish-speaker (well, not yet), but a Spanish-reader, but it's for me far easier to follow the Spanish conversations in normal language.

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
I never banned anyone from here, I think you all got the message wrong.
I recieved several complaints from none Spanish speakers who couldn't comprehend a word which was being said in here. And since here we gather people from many countries, who speak English, the best way to make each other understand what's being said is to speak in English, something which everyone here can do. While speaking only in Spanish, many members were feeling left out.
I'm sorry you got the wrong message, I only asked you to speak in both languages at least.

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
Hi Jazz Girl - thanks for your post - I don't think you meant to offend people at all, and you have a very tough position as Forum Monitors and we are very grateful for your work....
((soapbox))
Reading and Writing skills are very sensitive areas, and everyone has different abilities, and some are brilliant, where as some people are not. I cannot type Spanish, and would not attempt to for fear of lack of confidence, but I can copy and paste into a translation package and amuse myself when the translation gets it wrong. This is a skill I personally need to expand on - learning Spanish - as many of my friends do speak it. OK I am stemming a bit here.
Many Spanish people can read English but not write English, Many English people can read Spanish but not write Spanish - Many people, like Jelena and Corina can speak many many languages - and I envy them for their skills.
Lets take the Forum Subject here as an example. I know he can read English perfectly - as I cannot type Spanish - he types perfect Spanish in reply - yet would not type English for the same reason I would not type Spanish.
People are very protective of their literacy skills, and I feel that people should not complain because they cannot understand Spanish, especially on a forum dedicated to a Spanish person, they should, instead, try and broaden their horizons a little bit.
OK the non-Spanish speaking people feel shut out - so do the Spanish only speaking people.
New Year Resolution for 2006 - lets all try and improve our Spanish - www.freetranslations.com can help us start.
((/soapbox)) - Happy New 2006 to Everyone!!!

Re: Zabaleta tv Show
Now I feel really sad. I was really thankful to Alexito for posting the videos, even though he is posting on a different thread I still feel bad. This was where I used to look forward to coming, so I could get the new tenispro video. OK ill admit that I did feel a tiny bit left out and lost when ppl where speaking spanish on here and stuff, it would of been nicer if ppl had spoken both. Then again, tenispro is in spanish, so how did I know what they were sayin? I found a website to translate it for me. I wish Alexito would feel comfortable enough to come back here and post the videos, but if not then I thank him for all the ones he did post on here, and I will be now checkin that other thread for videos.
