That's true. Tommy needs more power to go with his consistent groundstrokes.

Trouble is, I don't think he's powerful enough to make that jump higher than about 15 in the world. Against Federer in Montreal, he again played the better set, he was absolutely slamming the forehand return and punishing Federer's second serve, but he was having to hit the ball as hard as he possibly could, outside his normal comfort zone, to achieve that result. He had 0-40 twice, only just failed to convert, and then Federer managed to break to win the set on his first breakpoint by hitting a forehand pass at about half-power. He just has more strength plus a flatter hit on the ball.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

During the match today, they basically said that Tommy has an all-around decent game but nothing special and no weapon to counteract his weaknesses. Watching the second set from today's match with Andy, that makes perfect sense (gotta love friends with the Tennis Channel!). So he's certainly not bad by any means and once in a while he set up great shots, but he just didn't seem to have any sort of spark with any aspect of his game.

I dont think Coria is more powerful than Robredo and Coria is 4 in the world.
Gaudio (who has the size of Robredo more or less) may be outside of the top 30 now but he certainly didnt lack power in the match he choked against Federer in Montral.

From what I've seen of Coria and what I've seen of Robredo, Coria is MUCH BETTER, not necessarily more powerful but has better shot selection and touch and moves better. Just from my brief observations though.

True, but Robredo while speedy doesn't quite have the lightning quickness of Coria and certainly doesn't have the mental strength. Coria actually has a better serve too, given that he always gets about 75-80% first serves in. And Gaudio can handle pace better than Robredo, using it and redirecting it. He certainly wins out on single-handed backhands against Robredo.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

they're generally reserved for Agassi celebrations as they are his Dancing Baldies (altho' the Potatoholics did once try claiming them as little dancing Potato-Heads ). as long as they never get used as Duck Eggs, i'm cool...
