The recent loss to Simons is really disappointing (he choked again serving for the match), but I am actually very proud of him that he NEVER lost in the 1st round of any tournament this year (when was the last time this happened???).

I really hope he could finish the year in the top 16, so as to avoid facing Federer/Nadal/Djokovic in the 3rd round of Australian Open next year.

My other worry is on his struggle to win the early matches of GS. He has been doing extremely poorly in GS for 4-5 years in a row (is he physically not fit to play 5-set matches?), so he rarely reaches the 4th round / QF of any GS in recent years.

I am thinking about Nalby when Dementieva retired yesterday. It would be very very sad to see Nalby not winning a GS when he retires. Hopefully he would stick around for another 3-4 years. If players like Haas/etc. could continue playing in their early 30s, then so could Nalby.

I was very disappointed by that lost too ...

I worry that after one-two such matches we will "loose" our David ...

has David enough "power" at this edge point?
hope he will fight again and show us his amazing tennis
