Default Saying a player dopes is now allowed?!

Just wondering... I remember members getting banned for saying Nadal could be a doper.

This morning nadal_fan_king just claimed that Federer was on steroids and the mods just deleted his post without any ban.

I guess then that we can now freely accuse players of doping cool, MTF will be much much more fun

There is no rule that says that doping allegations carry an automatic ban and no one was banned for just one such claim, posters do however get warned and eventually suspended if they continue posting such allegations or if they have received previous warnings.

Just to be clear, unfounded/unsubstatiated doping allegations will be classed as Inappropriate Language in terms of the offence, and will carry a yellow card warning for the first offence and thereafter will follow with a red card, a second red card leading to a 5 day ban, and so on until a max of 10 offences, which leads to permanent ban.

This applies whoever the target of the allegation happens to be.

making a jokes about a athlete using steroids is childish and immature! please use your common sense!

creating an allegations about an athlete using steroids is just like me making up a false statements about you and posting it online!

No - it's against forum rules to discuss unfounded allegations and we don't think there's any need for a thread like this - it would just become a magnet for people to fling around wild, inflammatory and probably legally actionable, libellous claims. That is something that could get the website into trouble, so it cannot be done.
It's clear that you have never visited any cyclingforum.

The main reason this shocked me so much is the usually much more politically correct other tennis forum i post on allows it

Also, I started this thread before I knew about that rule and it was not deleted and I was not given an infraction
Is it okay because it is factually based?

What's not allowed is people posting accusations/allegations/insinuations that Player A is a doper without there being some sort of proof. Discussing doping in a general context or people who have been found guilty of doping offences under the drug codes is a different matter.

The aim here is to try to prevent people having their reputations besmirched by wild and unsubstantiated allegations. People can have their suspicions, prejudices and dislikes but unless something has been proved they should keep it to themselves.

So calling, say, Chela a juicer is okay?

Can I know why my post was deleted on the doping thread?

I did not make any allegations. I carefully re-read my post before posting it.

All I post was a hypothesis that Henin's retirement and come back could have been linked with doping and this was an expansion of the Rochus interview posted just above. In other words, I wanted to tell a poster that the rumours that Rochus mentioned were not new for me. I had already heard about it. I would never have made this post if that interview head not been posted before. I've never claimed my post objective truth. It's up to the reader to realize that my post was not objective truth but only a hypothesis.

Moreover, you seemed to turn a blind eye on the fixing accusation for which there is no proof either, only probability how strong it can be.

Hypothesis...allegation...it's all much the same thing...everyone can sit around making a "hypothesis" about what player X did on a bathroom break or player Y gets from his pharmacist. On this forum, on this issue, speculation needs to be confined to cases where there has been proof brought or as a minimum where formal investigations are taking place.

Same as with match fixing. We don't turn a blind eye to it at all, where we see it, we take action about it. Sometimes it might get missed but that's not because of any policy.

OK I'll try to make more acceptable posts. My apologies.

But I insist my post was just an expansion on the questions raised by Christophe Rochus in the interview posted above. Please put my post in its context. I know the question Rochus raised are gratuitous but they've been made public whether we like it or not. A poster above me seemed to imply that he tried to get media attention. To me that's as if he was the only one who raised such questions. And I tried to explain that this was not the first time I heard it. I'm not even sure we can believe this.

pointless, he served his punishment and it was 10 years ago or sth., not a fan of his, but he definitely shouldn't be treated any differently than the likes of Nadal or Federer

You cannot go around the forum accusing players of doping . I have always had my suspicions of the real reason why Nadal skipped Queens,Wimby etc and i dont go running my mouth about it.

but it's perfectly acceptable for a moderator to announce that a poster has a double/triple/quadruple account (which is a form of cheating if that poster ever plays TT or other games, not to mention being a violation of forum rules) based only on speculation and with zero proof.

I see how you are.
