Re: 2010 Commonwealth Games
15 units Meares to win the 500m Time Trial @ $1.25 (Sportingbet)
A 3.75 unit Profit here on a bet which will get up. Meares has dominated this event her whole career. The field is weaker and she should absolutely smash it. McCulloch is her danger.
It will be an Australian 1-2 tonight in the time trial.
1. Meares
2. McCulloch
3. Sullivan
Mens 4000m IP
8 units Bobridge @ $1.77
Sergent was faster than Bobridge at the World Champs, but word I'm hearing out of the Aussie camp is Bobridge is in brilliant form. These two will battle the gold and silver.... No doubt about it. Here's hoping Bobridge does better
1. Bobridge
2. Sergent
3. Hepburn

Re: 2010 Commonwealth Games
Commonwealth Games tonight
Men's Kierin
7 units Azizulhasni Awang @ $2.25
This was a choice between Awang and Perkins. Perkins has never proved himself in the Keirin but Awang has. Awang was the silver medalist in the world championships. No one was going to beat Hoy, but he came close to it.
Perkins is a top quality sprinter and probably favourite for the men's sprint, but Keirin, you have to go for the Malaysian who has proven himself to be very good in this discipline. He's won a few gold medals and he's performed well and the 22 year old is continuing to impress. Perkins has been improving in the Keirin, but you need to specialise in this to win and Awang specialises in it.
The Malaysian cycling team is continuing to grow under John Beasley. After Tisin's performance yesterday in the time trial, Beasley has the Malaysian program spot on. If Awang is in form, he won't lose this and will give Malaysia their first gold medal on the track.
1. Awang
2. Perkins
3. Tisin

Re: 2010 Commonwealth Games
15 units Australia to win the team pursuit @ $1.55
Australia will be far too strong for New Zealand.
15 units Perkins to win the sprint @ $1.60
Perkins last night showed he is the fastest man here. Can't see him losing.

Re: 2010 Commonwealth Games
Women's 3000m IP
12 units Houvenaghel @ $1.90 (Sportingbet)
This is going to be close. Very close between Houvenaghel and Shanks. Shanks is the 2009 World Champion and Houvenaghel has been a star in the pursuit for years.
Wendy this year finished second in the World's with Shanks finishing fourth. I was originally going to sit this one out as it was too close to call but decided to back her after I read that she clocked 3:30 in the Nationals before the Games. That tells me her form is rock solid.
10 units Devvarman over Ebden @ $1.60
10 units Rodionova over Peers @ $1.40
