I am too disappointed about this to get into an argument about last summer.

All the sites quote canal+ as a source, though I can't find anything on the canal + site, and they don't give any reason. But I have not much hope.

Forget and Roux works for Canal Plus so it must be sure. You don't think Richard was in a good position to play vs spain in july after his good may on clay. Well i just want to notice that when he's near to a main spot we lost him in last minutes that's his story since 2007 now. strange feeling with DC for him.

I'm waiting for the reason as everybody.

Well, you force me into it. Last year Richard got injured in Queens. Do you really think he missed the whole grass season, because he wanted to avoid playing Davis Cup?

Any confirmation that Richard will NOT play?

I hope it's not true and they just called Chardy as the 5th player to cover for him if he is not able to play.......

Yes he got injured while his spring on clay put him in good position to come back in DC team. I'm ok it's not exactly the same story than here but i mean he can't never take advantage of the withdraw of Jo, Gael or Gilles each time he's himself injured or a Llodra appears in single like last year. His last DC match was this poor double in Ostrava and his last single match is far way now. I was sure it was a good opportunity to see him back with DC especially on clay that's a pity.

Default Re: Dc 2011

He did mention his shoulders in L'Equipe post-match article yesterday, although he said it wasn't a concern, maybe it is now. Can someone translate what he said? Just the highlighted part I meant.

GILLES SIMON avait raison.

That's why I'm thinking he's a doubt and Forget called Chardy as cover, well I hope this is true!

Something like. "It had an impact", he refers obviously to Federer's rebreak and then Something like "I felt my ellbow and shoulder" ( but nothing alarming according to him for DC in 6 days).

He was grimacing, but he also did that against Gilles and he served well yesterday apart from that dreadful game, so I was not really worried.

Of course it is the right decision not to play, if he isn't fully fit, but I wonder why he retired already today and did not wait for some more days. Forget still could have called Jim.

OMG, I hope Jeremy can handle this, his head already hasn't been at the right place, now he suddenly got thrown into the pressure cooker of DC. Dammit, what a disaster this tie is for Team France.

Maybe the doubles final from Dubai will do him good. Besides his ranking is still far better than the Austrian NR. 2, so he has a good chance. Besides, I like Jim, so he will have my support.

He lost to the Tomic kid in AO, I like to wipe that off my memory.
But that doubles final, hopefully will give him some confidence. We don't know if he'll be the 2nd single player anyway, he can play double and free Mika/Benny to play single.

Now, the strategy will indeed be interesting, and important. The choice is not all that obvious anymore, it'll be fun to see what Forget thinks and picks.

The ranking difference is still HUGE, Benneteau has the worst at 80, while Fischer is 137 and Koubek 174. Benneteau is good on clay. Just wonder if it will be wise to have him play twice. He still lacks matches.
