Default Team GB: the Davis Cup Thread

so a shame about this year but a strong effort to get to the QFs

Hopefully next year we can go further!

In anticipation (because we won't be playing to Feb I think in 2015) for next season thought I'd make this

big positive for next year is the amount of top teams we could face only at home, France, Italy, US, Switzerland, Argies, Czech etc

I think Spain would be away, not sure about Japan or Australia etc

Lets see if Murray can fully recover and the guys around him step it up to produce some epic matches in the future like we have this year

Home vs USA. What are our chances? Probably gonna need Ward to win a match again...

Depends on the surface choice really. I'd love us to put them on grass or more likely, fast indoor carpet.

Whatever surface we choose needs to fit Ward's strengths.

Murray will beat Isner and Querrey (or Johnson, Sock, Young etc).

Not a chance.

It'll be interesting to see who the fourth is though,

1) Murray
2) Ward
3) Fleming
4) Doubles player/Evans?/Edmund/Broady

Good job to go up 2-1 against the USA. It's hard to imagine Isner beating Andy Murray on Sunday. GB would play France in GB in the quarterfinals. Anything is possible with Inglot and the Murrays, but France may have too much depth.
