In a desperate attempt to inject some life into this sub-forum outside of the Andy Murray sub-sub-forum, I am starting a thread for Britain's current junior number one, and recent Youth Olympics doubles gold medallist, Oliver Golding. He has just reached the semi-finals of the U.S. Junior Open boys' doubles with his Czech partner Jiri Veseley.

Nice kid, didn't seem to mind my almost fan-ish attempts to chat him up.

Was rooting for him, but alas, he lost in the USO Boys Doubles final....

Oliver has reached the quarter finals of a 10K in Mexico (his girlfriend is Mexican). He is playing world number 645 Alexander Satschko, who is thirty today.

Oliver is back in Mexico as top seed in the Casablanca Cup, a junior grade A event with a less than A class field. Hopefully he will take full advantage of this opportunity to bag lots of ranking points.

He is actually banned because of his conduct in a previous competition at the end of last year!

He is currently the world junior number 4. He is living and training in Mexico, because he has a Mexican girlfriend. He also said in an interview, that he thinks he will be better off away from the pressure put on British players in Britain.

And who can blame him. Murray did it his way so why not Golding.

Golding is playing qualies for a US Futures this week. He actually could've gotten into the Dallas Challenger Qualies which has a really weak draw.

Oliver is Zurich, taking part in a mixed senior/junior competition. He lost a doubles match today with his new partner, a Mr Pete Sampras, but he is in the final of the junior singles.
