But Kohli is tougher to beat in DC than on the tour imo.
Gaël says on the DC website that he has "85 per cent of his usual confidence" (which is actually reassuring, it would have been disturbing to be bursting with confidence after that annoying start into the season).

OMG, what a relief when Kohli made an UE on MP.

He was so, so nervous.

He served well, he had his DF problem in check, I was a bit worried because of that.
Kohli was driving the German commentators crazy with his weak approach shots.

It was a convincing win, but it was obvious he was VERY nervous when he had to close it out.
He joked with the journalists and said it's their fault, they're putting too much pressure on them, that's why he was so defensive on matchpoint.

There is a long interview in L'Equipe today, he says he's feeling better, he's put on 4-5 kg again since RG.
But the surface and especially the balls used for the tie really don't suit him, they were chosen in order to have the worst possible conditions for players who play with a lot of topspin - like Gaël. ^^
I like his honest assessment of his season - one can count on half of one hand his good matches this year (Blake in Brisbane, Kohli in DC and Mayer in Wimby, those are the only matches he can remember so far).

Good win indeed! Disappointed to have missed the first 2 sets after seeing the highlights, but he really stepped it up again in the 5th and showed some nerve to hold on much to my delight. A bit of a roller coaster but Ferrer's a real fighter and all he needs is a glimpse to get back into it so I can't be critical.

New gesture after the match with the eye thing, can anyone shed any light on the meaning of that?

Oh, and Ferrer's kicking of the umpire's chair made my day.
