I guess we should mention this before the Isner match. Nalba is 9-1 in Tiebreaks for the year.

John (Mr. Tiebreak) Isner is 25-15.

Nalby is going to get great "return of service" practice for the second straight day. It is almost a blessing now that he got to warm up a bit returning a big serve with Ljubicic.

Bizarre match, Stephan. Nalby wins by retirement as Isner twists his ankle and couldn't continue.

I hope John is ok.

Rest up for Nole, David.

Oddly, I think this bizarre win gets Nalby a seed at the U.S. Open. He should gain another 90 pts for making R3.

Isner wrapped up the ankle. In the end of first set he tried to see if he could still play. David served good his game. It was John's turn. When it was down to 0-30, Isner retired.

Yes, next match is vs. Novak Djokovich

I feel bad for Isner! I wish David won in the normal way but a win is a win!

Unfortunately he didn't get enough time to do so!

Painful loss to Nole today with all those breaks of serve and set points.

On the bright side, after the first set, I was having Queens 2008 SF deja vu all over again. I'm glad he made it competitive.

I know it doesn't fit your schedule, Fatima, but I hope David gets plenty of night matches if it is hot and muggy at the U.S. Open. He always seems to struggle with his service when it is extremely hot and muggy. It just feels better to watch him play at night. He always looks like he is suffering when it is too hot.

David absolutely was not satisfied by rhe match result
He just "runned away" from the court...
Hope he wil learn that lesson, when he could win..
but lost in the end
