Hum i guess we are already 2 points down , only Jo had a chance against Bandy. Doubles will be the key.

Good luck Argies

Doubles will be decide for sure. I don´t see Monaco winning anything, he´s coming back from a tough injury and didn´t win a MD match since then. Nalby should also win his two singles which would mean a 2-2 in singles. I choose France in doubles because of the home advantage.

I think sometimes people have too much respect for Bandy. For sure he is very dangerous, but it is still a very difficult task for him to win two singles this weekend.

The draw should work out well for Argentina - as the #1 player, Dave should be playing Gasquet on Friday (unless the French play a trick card and choose Llodra?), and I admit that he should get a winning start there. The 7-0 head-to-head says a lot, especially as Gasquet is often beaten before he starts a match.

But the pressure is also on Dave to beat Monfils (as Monaco surely won't win either singles), and I'm not particularly confident he will do that. Yes, he has a stronger brain and is a Davis Cup warrior...but he has lacked big match temperament in all other events since his comeback, and Monfils certainly is fitter and stronger than him.

Doubles will be interesting, but it is surely France's rubber to lose. In doubles, Llodra is at least twice as good as Schwank and Zeballos COMBINED, and I'm expecting France to welcome Clement back to the team (in place of Simon), and into doubles duty on Saturday. Simon is still struggling in his comeback, and surely his interests are with little Tim at home anyway.

France to win 3-2 or 4-1 imo (depending on whether Monaco plays first on Sunday).

Llodra was defeated by Nalby in Sydney 2009 6/1 6/2....so if he plays, he will certainly lose to Nalby and i would be surprised if Forget asked him to do. He'll probably play double with Clément, Monfils and Simon will play singles. Gasquet never beat Nalby in 7 matches, Forget won't make him play except if he wants to suicide the French team !!!

Thanks

I think doubles match will be the key, if there´s no surprises friday should finish 1-1. On sunday I trust Nalbandian will defeat Monfils, although Gael won last 2 matches against David, and France shouldn't have troubles to win fifth rubber. So if I was Guy Forget I would include Clement in the team to make doubles stronger

Lol. That was early 2009. This is late 2010...and Llodra is in career-best form, and will be playing on an indoor hard court which is one of the best courts for his game. Dave usually enjoys the serve-volley match-up, yes, but he'll have to play well to beat Llodra this time. Definitely not a guaranteed win for Nalbandian there.

I don't think Simon has a better chance to beat Nalbandian, than Gasquet...he'll need to be playing some of his best tennis, and he hasn't done that since his knee injuries. Simon isn't ready to play the tie, and I'll be shocked if Clement doesn't take his place.

You're right Burro, Nalbyfan lives in the past.

futbol-tennis Argentina won

rumours say Clement is entering in the team and will be reeplacing most likely Gasquet or Simon

I heard Tito Vazquez speaking in the radio and it seems that if Pico plays on friday he'll be numer 1 of the team, and David numer 2. Anyway tomorrow we will know who gonna play for each team, I think it will be Monaco-Simon and Nalbandian-Monfils

If my very limited Spanish does not fail me, this would mean that Monaco is out. And how can they know that David plays second when the draw has not been made?

They should be using this week's rankings list to determine the #1 and #2 players...in which case Nalbandian must play as #1, unless he isn't playing on Friday.

Tomorrow 13.30 (8.30 argentina) Monaco-Llodra, then Nalbandian-Monfils

I'm surprised Forget choosing Llodra, I think Simon would defeat Monaco. Better for Argentina, I hope Llodra plays a little tired on saturday. Gasquet is out of the team, Clement replaced him
