Saw it from 6-6 in the 5th, glad Thomaz pulled it out. I heard he was 2-5 down and saved 3 MP's, what a win.

Let's see what can Ricardinho do against Somdev.

Impressive, Thomaz. Very impressive. This win should help the entire situation for Brazil in also demoralizing the crowd. Crucial result, very proud of the fighting from Thomaz here.

Well, 4:30 in India, where we know it can be brutal, outdoors, not a good situation for fitness. This makes it even more important for Mello to win over Somdev. I do not like Ricardo and Somdev is one of my favorite players, but today I'm putting the negativity to the side, it's a must win for Ricardo IMO.

Devvarman and Mello really could go either way imo, although I'd probably lean slightly to Mello. I've never been totally convinced by Somdev, and while Mello has done some outrageous flat-track bullying this year I think there is a little more class to his game.

The doubles is very tough to call. India should obviously be the favourites, but Melo and Soares will be tough. Soares is decent, but Melo is the weak link though, imo...he is a little wooden and I'm not sure his reflexes will be quick enough to keep up with the barrage from Bhupathi and Paes.

I'll go with a Brazil win...I think they'll get 3 points from the singles.
Good analysis, I agree with it. Thomaz barely got the job done but a win is a win. Somdev is up a set now over Mello. That match is definitely important for both sides to get a victory with. Thomaz was out there playing for four and a half hours outdoors in India, so it will be tough for him to recover for Sunday, making it even more important for Brazil to win both singles today. I do agree Mello is a better overall player and that one should be more confident backing a victory from him than Somdev.

I think India will win the doubles, both Soares and Melo to me are decent doubles specialists, but not on the level of Bhupathi/Paes at home. In fact I think that will be a straight sets win. If India wins the doubles, they are going to hope Somdev can take advantage of potential fitness issues with Bellucci, and with the way Somdev plays he is the type to take advantage of that. But you do have to believe Brazil are the favorites in both reverse singles.

We'll just have to see what happens in this Somdev/Mello match.

I feel sorry for the Indian side...so very close (at least with Bopanna) and in the end it was all for nothing. It is going to be very tough for them to recover now, but, as flyboy says, there is some hope that maybe Bellucci and Mello might struggle to recover by Sunday.

Great value for money for the crowd, though! 9 hours of intense singles action, while the Sweden vs. Italy tie gave just 3 hours on Friday!

First order of the day is to win the doubles to keep the tie alive, and India should be favoured to do so.

Thomaz Bellucci probabily will win of Devvarman! And if Bellucci don´t get the final victory i think that Ricardo Mello get the third point and Brazil will come back to the World group!
